I tried booting up from the LCD and that didnt work. =( the screen is still black and no picture at all. If i leave the lcd plugged in for awhile, the screen starts to flicker a bit. I checked all my connection and it seems ok. I even re-soldered some of the points.
Ok i redid everything, but i still have the same wiring configuration. Now its finally working but not 100% though =( atleast i get image now and not just a black screen. BUT to get picture to show up on the LCD i had to boot up with the LCD on the VGA or on the DVI->VGA port. The image is just scrolling really fast, but i can see that its showing the desktop. I have the LCD on the VGA port so i plug in my regular CRT monitor on the DVI port and XP cant detect my CRT... It wont let me extent my desktop onto my CRT. Anyone know why???
I tried fixing the scrolling on the LCD but i cant get it to work. When i get to this screen http://mpro.no-ip.com/pics/lcd/layout/ps4.jpg (not my settings, just using it as an example) i put a check mark next to Composite sync and interlaced and then press add new resolution. NOw the LCD scrolls slower and picture is a little more clear, but image is split into parts. When i OK out of that screen and hit this screen http://mpro.no-ip.com/pics/lcd/layout/ps6.jpg the interlace and compsite sync doesnt have a check tick anymore. But LCD image remains the same. Once i put a check tick for both of them its scrolls really fast again, so fast that i cant even distinguish the picture anymore.
I've tried using other powerstrip settings that i've seen on other threads, but that doesnt work. What are the exact steps to adjust and get my own settings? do i start with the pixel clock? scan rate? also once i have the Horizontal scan rate put to what i want and i change the vertical scan rate it changes my horizontal.
Im using VNC from another computer to make all this adjustments.
can anyone help or provide suggestions for my pc not being able to detect both LCD and CRT at the sametime, and how to stop the LCD from scrolling =)
sorry for all the writing, but im determined to get this to work.
Hey, could someone do me a quick favor and measure the dimensions of the board, or, if possible trace it onto 1/4" grid paper, just need to know if it'll fit into a certain project.
Pinkpig what type of Vid card are you using? What happens when the lcd is on the DVI port? Also Have you tried using a PCI Vid card For the LCD do you can have your crt connect to yout main card

Ypu MAY be running into the problem I was having.
SOME 9800 PROs, although they have 2 monitor connectors, are NOT in fact Dual head. They let you use either the vga OR the DVI connector.
If you have a spare monitor, hook it up to the VDI/vga dongle and see if it lets you have Dual monitor support.
If it wont, then you will need to buy a PCI graphics card (one that has c-sync support is preferable, then you wont need to build a h/v synch >> c-synch adapter)
Hi. first time I been here, and I definately wanna do this to use the LCD as a secondary monitor.
In the article the picture shows that Powerstrip is being used with a Geforce4200 ti (like I have), however the article says that most Nvidia cards have no C synch. Does the Geforce4200 ti happen to be one of the few cards that has it, or did you need to make a Composite sync circuit to get it to work?
And what will actually happen if a card with no synch is used without a Composite sync circuit?
I have a problem. I had a guy from gracious home help me wire mine up. I couldn't because my hands aren't steady enough. Anyways, I was watching him do it and he did an amazing job. He told me he used to work at sony and that he built a board that would turn a ps1 into a ps2. Anyways, I came home all excited to try it when I realized it wasn't turning on. The power was plugged in and it was connected, but I could no longer even play with the brightness like I could before. After a lot of frustration and experimenting, I plugged it into my main video card and it worked. Now I know my Matrox Mystique 220 works because I have been able to use my main monitor on it, but Only when I switch the priority from AGP/PCI in bios to PCI/AGP. My question is this. I have an ASUS p4c800 -E deluxe motherboard, How can I tell it to turn both cards on? I tried plugging in a different monitor into the mystique but it wouldn't turn on either. When I plugged my PSOne into my main, I got power, but the monitor wouldn't display anything, It was as if it wasn't plugged in, could this be becuase the card was set to display the resolutions on my main monitor and not my secondary? Thanks for the oncoming replies. Please help me :'( :'( :'(

did you keep the priority to pci/agp?
You need to have the BIOS recognise the PCI card as the primary monitor , but in windows, make the AGP card the primary monitor

Well if I do that, the AGP card isn't initialised, so the only video is coming from the PCI.

If you go to the display properties, you can then activate the AGP card in windows.
It will mean that the PCI card will show all the boot screens, but once into windows, the AGP card will take over as primary display.

Thanks, Ill try that when I get home and will promptly report
Forgot to ask, do you think it would be possible to run a visualization from wmp on the primary monitor on the AGP while I have my player/playlist open on the secondary/psone/PCI screen?
you can but you need to get the cigarette lighter adaptor. You chop off the the part that plugs into the car and wire the ground to one of the blacks and the live to the yellow.
Ok so I shifted the priority and the psone monitor doesn't turn on. If I switch it to the AGP and my Primary to the PCI it turns on. I haven't started playing with the timings, but I can tell its working. Any ideas? :'( :'( :'(
I just bought the psone lcd and would like to know if anyone has tried using it with an apple ibook or know if it will work? The ibook has an ATI Raedon 7500 32mb video card. Any input would be great. Thanks ;)
Do you have to cut a larger hole for the LCD screen? Or does just taking the floppy bays out suffice? I hope I don't have to cut the hole to make it larger... Also, I'm planning on doing it with a PC68 or PC65 or (maybe) PC60. Will the lcd board and screen fit between the case and the front panel? Or would I have to take out the floppy tray and put it inside the case? I'm hoping it'll fit inbetween...!

I used the the solder points from http://starfox.ucc.asn.au/carcomp/serio_lcd.htm . I also ground pin 11 and 4 on the vga to the ground on the LCD (pin 8 ) .
I've read other people who have done this mod that they added resisters etc.... Do i need that for it to detect?
I have a NTSC LCD.
thanks

i had vga pin 6,7,8 grounded at first and that didnt work and then i also grounded 11 and 4. and that didnt work either =(
thanks

I've decided its too fiddly for me with the time I got and will be connecting via the TV out (svideo to composite to 3.5mm).
