very nice work. the tubes look cool.. although I kind of liked the dirty white wires too - i guess thats part of the benefit of doing a rusted up junk case ;)
Man i wish i had the skills, time, materials and vision that you do. this case is simply amazing. some one should alsmot email valve and tell thema bout this they just might have to commission pilloux to build another one or sell them this one.
As for the wires/sleeving - I hope you aren't planning to use the same type of rust. Not that it looks bad, but since the sleeving is silver/chrome, a different type of rust might add some variety.
What are you going to do with the watercooling tubing? I think it would be very hard to paint them. Maybe you could let the tubing sit outside in the sun and let them age up, turn a little yellow, you know?

that depends on the type of tubing
i remember reading somewhere that some are uv resistant and wont fade
i cant remember though someone may prove me wrong

good idea! piloux could use the transparent tube that is inside the shower hose, there is enough space to fit the transparent tube and the fan cables.. and then he put watercooling uv liquid inside the transparent tube (very useless :) ) and then he "damage" the shower hose to make rusty holes inside to show the tube !
Hopefully nobody has asked this before (I tried to read the thread before asking.).
How did you manage to get those "cracks" on the fan grill? Did you just trace them with dremel with an encraving bit or how?

No No, i think idea if making holes and such in the shower tubing with the clear tubing and UV fluid inside is awesome.
Ya so im back home and i have pics of the switch. Its a GE switch for a drill press or something. I bought it at a yard sale for 50 cents.
First a pic with the cover on: http://dan.guitartabs.com/tom/case-mods/on.JPG
( look : It comes pre-rusted! But there is no rust on the contacks )
watercooling tube are too big to fit in a shower hose and shower hose's plastic tube are maybe too small for watercooling so i was thinking about close one side of the tube, put uv liquid in it and then close the other side, so it's just for the look, it's why i wrote "very useless" ;)
watercooling tube are too big to fit in a shower hose
i disagree, from a quick google search i found most standard shower hoses in the UK have an internal tubing diameter of 11mm.
This is clearly big enough for a small setup - e.g. 10mm OD and 8mm ID, you may even be able to sqeeze some 12mm OD in some particular hoses. If it can be done, Piloux is the one to do it for sure. The idea of having those littl 'breaches' in the shower hose showing the glowing UV fluid is an immense idea!!

= thinking about how good it would look in r.l.

ok u'r right.. i'm not wc specialist and all the wc setup i saw got big tubes..
but if the tube is smaller, the waterflow and performance are smaller ?
No need to apologise dude, i'm no watercooling specialist either - i just desperately wanted to know if it could be done, regardless as to whether piloux uses it in the end or not.
It's a bit of a misconception that the bigger the tube the better the performance, as it is one of many factors that influence cooling ability.
If your based in the states, chances are everything you see in w/c terms will use big tubing and high flow rate blocks. I think this is an extension of the American ' bigger is better' mentality, but in europe the tubing is generally smaller and the water blocks utilise lower flow rates (personally, i think the european blocks also look a lot better)
obviously piloux is in belgium anyway so his w/c setup may reflect what i said above
Yes so do I, I belive it would a a certain "Je ne sais quoi" to the mod. But I'm also just realising that if he wanted to do that it would be cool to also as tortuegeniale said to simply

If pilloux aded a few hoses like that coming out of various parts of the case I think it would just add the the awesomeness of the mod and over all superiority of the case.
One other think that crossed my mind was that I'm wondering waht pilloux will be doing to his waterblocks. Wether he'll be doing the same effect every where possible or leave his components bare and just polish them or something.
i think rusted effect components may be going too far.
I definately think he should do something with them so they dont retain their stock appearance, but at this moment i have no idea what he could do, i'm sure piloux has an idea or two.

Yea, those ideas would be pretty smart. I gotta admit, I didn't think a rusty box would look very good for a case, but this project is really cool! Totally overused industrial equipment style. I love it ;)

well I can not say what I m planning for , I m always searching for nice stuff and godd possibilities...

If u want it, piloux, u can have it. Just pay for shipping. Hope i could help.
Just ask me questions.
thank you very much :) it is very kindly from you but I see it near your mouse and I think it is too big...I have found some olds nices switch that I m going to use :)

By making hole in the shower hose you give a view at uv fluid and make it just look plain cool.

Yep, I was about to suggest that. Make some holse and shizat in the shower tube and then put green UV die to make it look like radioactive material
