Amazing work again Piloux.

If you could change the display on the meter so it looked like a geiger (sp?) counter would be cool. Would fit in nicely with the Half life theme too.

And back-lit, naturally

Looks really good, i've missed this since page two so its gd what ive seen so far, this is gonna be a seriously good project when its finished. had a quick look at a couple of pages as i cant be bothered to read the whole thread.
Can't wait to see when its finished.

The red and white switches don't go at all with the theme so i'm wondering how your going to do those, but im sure it will be fitting with the case. Also the toggle switches look a bit outa place as well.
nice work

Looking great, as usual.

Figure out of the gague is operational? It looks a bit out of place, even though it is metal...maybe scuff up the surface or something?

Can't wait for more. :D

I'd have to agree - the buttons definately need aging :D really awesome work so far though, as usual ;). Perhaps you could do something like glue and some other material (i know it sounds wierd, but maybe glue, oatmeal and food colouring?) to make some bubbled rust on the gauge plate, and perhaps you could break it open and do some yellow watermark style rust on the gauge as well? This mod has so much potiential its not true, i think everyone has thought of doing a hl mod at some stage, and i know if someone is going to do it properly, its you :)

I love the gieger counter idea, when the comps under full load it would be very cool to have the gauges needle jumping around and flicking up and down, i think if it does work you could probably do it via the serial port pretty easily? It would be awesome to have pulsing lighting too rather than static lighting, but im sure you've got heaps figured out already

Nice work!

This case looks so damn fine!!! The best rust I ever saw apart from the one on my car.. ;)
Can't wait to see it finished!

By the way, did you intend to put some feet under your case? Cause I'm doing a pip boy/ fallout themed case at the moment and I went to an aluminium factory and they gaven some "puddles" of melted aluminum for feet. Think that might look sweet under your case. I have no digicam to put pictures here of how they look unfortunately.

The metre could be set up to display the HD activity really easily with no need to interface with a serial port.

Would not look as good as CPU usage though. For CUP you will have to find some way of converting a pulse into a smooth increase in needle position. Did you say if you got the thing to work? Is there a obvious shunt on the back of the metre, cos 6 amps is a lot to generate to make the needle move full scale
kestrel 6th March 2004, 13:44 Quote
hmmmmm.... the buttons and the VU meter seem a bit out of place, think you could paint the VU meter as well? The theme is predominantly orange and rust so orange buttons and VU meter would be pretty nice.
