/agree with MrDT. Article discussion threads are timeless (like a fine wine) as the articles are always up on the main site. e.g check out Macros HDD/Knightrider article thread - nearly 2 years old and still getting comments!
Welcome to the forums Nchalada and thanks for the feedback B)

Hi 2to,
I use a place in Newcastle called Hamilton Chrome. I don't have the no. offhand but yellowpages.com.au lists them. They only do my metal parts and are fairly cheap as far as chroming goes. The plastic pieces were done by The Bronzing Studio in Sydney (mega $$, their prices are ludicrous now - tripled in the last 12 mo.)
I love what you've done with the case so far... I have very similar plans for the Lubic-4480 kit I'm building. I just have a few questions...
Where did you get your fasteners? I've been looking all over and haven't found a good source yet.
In your travels around the net, have you found a good source for interesting metal sheets (or architectural mesh as it's sometimes called)? I found a company that sells some interesting patterns, but the only one I really like so far for my project doesn't really offer enough of a base for what I'll need it to do.
I got my fasteners locally in Australia. I couldn't find anything good in hardware stores so went to a supplier who sells to tradespeople. Specialised Wholesale in Newcastle. I don't often buy materials via the net - most aussie places aren't web-based and not worth the $$ to try and ship international. I get plenty of inspiration just wandering around hardware/metal suppliers etc. I work with what's available really. It can be limiting.
Your mesh link is great! Nice products.
I'll have the project finished soon so keep an eye on bit-tech in a couple of weeks time ;)
I must say G-gnome, your case is by far the most amazing case I've ever seen. You truly have done an amazing job. A fantastic job, a as will Farrell would say "scrumtrulecent" job. I honestly have never seen a mod this fantastic. Anyone who could say this mod wasn't the best, would be sadly mistaken. I really cannot get across to you how truly amazed I am with your work. The time you've spent on this has really paid off, and i cant wait to see the "Final Product" even though in my opinion i couldn't see how it could get any better. Your styles, the chrome and the green just work perfectly together. I have to say, its just.. amazing and honestly, If this case was out on the open market, i'd definitely buy me one. Just because of its sheer brilliance. You've created a project unlike anything I've ever seen and your case will stand the test of time. Great work G-gnome. I hope to see more case mod's from you. Your efforts have really paid off. ;)

Umm...this thread is pretty old, since I posted that first thread there have been 5 articles written and another forum thread posted. Thanks for the nice words but you can see the finished case here.

I'm thinking of just going with a honey comb patter but they don't offer one.
Here's the link to the company if anyone else wants to see what they offer.
