Did you use the tweaks required for Vista when using ssd's? I.e. switching the inbuilt defrag off, for starters?

they most likely did not have the X25-e to do an IOmeter, HD tune/tach test on it (they did state that somewhere as they norm do not run these types of tests as to why Apex ended up in the CPC mag)

Because Intel pinched it back from us before we started running those tests. In the end it's pretty inconsequential though, as the X25-E is so ludicrously expensive that you'd have to be (a) rich and (b) mad to buy one for a home desktop system.

They do, out of stock though at the only uk shop that ever had any.
Lucky me got a 128GB one when they had some and I have to say SSDs are amazing fast.

The drive had to be returned to Intel before those results were compiled.

Quick Question: I'm considering buying and installing this SSD for a new Macbook Pro 17" 3Ghz 8GB RAM machine... my concern/question is: How can I clone the boot drive to the Corsair P256 [so I can install/swap it to be the only internal boot drive while completely avoiding a "full format" nightmare that was mentioned at the end to totally ruin the drive?

Thanks in advance for the advice!
