I reviewed the HS1A recently as well and am really loving the headset. The build quality is superb for the price and the sound quality (par the slightly lacking bass response) is really nice as well.

Take a look at Turtle Beach HPA-2s if you want 5.1 analogue. I use them and they sound pretty damn nice :)

You would honestly be much better getting a stereo headset with some nice phat drivers and using positional audio emulation, assuming you have a soundcard. It works just as well, and you get the benefits for general sound reproduction of having single, high quality drivers, rather than several lesser ones.
Of course, if you don't have a soundcard, you are kind of out of luck. But getting even these headphones without a soundcard seems a little wasteful.
Is the microphone detachable? It doesn't look like it is, but i've always been intrigued what a headset such as this would be like for listening to music on the bus with...
