That SATA 3Gb/s read speed seems low. Was the OS installed in IDE or AHCI mode? There's at least a 30 Mbps read difference in that setting. Annoyingly win7 doesn't install the AHCI driver if you install the OS in IDE mode, so have to reinstall everything.
