Considering the quite considerable amount of modding required to then get the cards to fit into a case, the only people I can see using this s hardcore benchers, but they'll scoff at the 1-2% performance loss!

This daughterboard is kinda crazy. Crazy as in there isn't a special revision of the board with it built in instead!

Motherboard's looking quite good. The card I'm not impressed by, but like lacuna said, looks nice.

What i dont get about the super ultra mega foursome duahgterboard is that there are boards that feature 4 PCIe slots that can fit in cases and dont require you to spend yet more money on an already crazy expensive board.
wuyanxu 28th May 2010, 10:30 Quote
i don't think they've got a large enough cooling block on that 5970 :D

wonder when we'll see special cases designed for this kind of riser board, and by which brand.
douglatins 28th May 2010, 13:53 Quote
They already lost with the ARES, Sapphire have a better solution. Also i have quality concerns for the ARES. Looks bad

Unless that type of board becomes commonplace, never? I wouldnt have thought it would be viable for case makers to cater to the 1% of people that would need such a case.

So that leaves ASUS building their own cases to fit their own board, and the last ASUS case i saw, looked like it fell out the fugly tree and hit every branch on the way down!

ASUS Should boundle the ROG thing with riser brackets for PCI holders

You'd still have issues with connectors fitting

What is the build process of the NF200? Probably it's not 45 nm...

Since they can't make chipsets anymore, why doesn't nvidia make a "NF300" that addresses the performance, heat and power consumption issues?

Um - Any facts to back that up?

"If you think this kind of aggressively styled hyper card tomfoolery is for you then we’d recommend you start looking in to ways of flogging a kidney or your first born given the exuberant estimated price tag of around £1,000."

Why not the kidney's of your first born?

Good idea in theory. Completely retarded in execution.

Surely the 'extreme benchmarker' that the daughterboard's aimed at won't care about its inability to fit in a case as they'll just be using a bench? But then again, if I wanted quad cards, I'd have bought a board that supports them in the 1st place.

I wonder if you could put a ribbon PCI-E cable to the other two PCI-E slots covered by the daughter board and then have two daughter boards installed for 8 Graphics cards, pop in some GTX260 and that could be a kiler Folding@Home rig, pop GTX480 and well we get to see rolling blackouts and a possible global temp rise of 10 degrees ending all life lol....

they probably have it in development. We really have idea wtf Nvidia has planned.
Elton 30th May 2010, 10:34 Quote
I don't think they'll make another NF chip for a while. Unless they can charge much more this time to implement it, or convince others to do it, I don't see it happening.

Then again, if they could pull 6x SLI, then maybe.

Considering a 2GB 5970 + full water cooling kit cost about the same as that card. One would wonder why they didn't make the cards with a waterblock. I doubt there would be custom water blocks that can cool the extra RAM since it is a limited edition card.
