Did bit-tech try and break this one open? I'm seriously considering buying one, but would really rather have an SSD in it, for piece of mind and snappier usage.. Is there any chance of some opened up shots to see how easy it would be to remove the HDD?

We didn't have the machine for long enough to take it apart, but I'm assured that there'll be another Seashell coming back to the Dennis offices in the next week or so as stock starts to arrive in volume. :)

I would think CustomPc will be getting one for review, and they may be able to send Bit-tech some shots?

These are a great series of notebooks. I have the G5 version. XP was so slow even with 1 gig of ram. SO...I put Xubuntu on it. (The Lite Version) Man the thing is as fast, runs like a computer should. :)

ya on my 1000he, I popped in a 2gb stick and a 500gb hdd, and have it set to tri-boot, I have the XP install on there and Windows 7 and Easy Peasy 1.1 Ubuntu too. Windows 7 runs very well on the EeePC, I mean like wow and its wifi connection manager is so nice and easy to use too.

Edit: Anyone have any more info on that Acer Aspire One 571 with Blu-ray playback on those mini-bd disc and the 1280x720 10" screen, the screen is what Im really interested in would be nice to see that in other Netbooks.

Edit: or anymore info on the MSI Wind U110 with the Atom cpu and the ATI HD3200 gpu.

We now work in central London at the Dennis headquarters and there's another one coming back to the office soon, as far as I'm aware.

Really?? You're going to trade in a 15-inch Laptop for a 10-inch netbook? Really??

It's got a VGA port. You can use that to plug it into a 20-inch monitor, which is what you obviously want if you are only going to spend £368 / $425 on a 2nd PC.

That's great.

Although I don't think I'll be very popular on the train if I lug a 20" monitor around to hook my netbook/laptop to...
