I am very interested in one of these for university next year, but I agree that £400 for a netbook is pushing it. I want it because of the pure mobility of the thing which is useful for note writing in lectures, etc. I will proberly want to install Linux Ubuntu on it but the problem I am having is that they are BRINGING NEW MODELS OUT TOO FAST and I am continuously waiting for the "newer, better" model.

exactly... an extra £50 gets you a proper laptop

A 15.4in model, I assume?

IIRC a little while back (and possibly still available although I can't check at the moment) PCworld were doing a couple 12" packard Bell / advent laptops for around the £400-£500 mark complete with everything an entry level 15.4" laptop has. At this price point I would much rather have a fully fledged albeit slightly larger laptop than a Netbook OR save quite a bit of money and go for a £200 - £300 netbook that does everything this eeepc does for a alot less money.

It looks nice but I don't see what it offers over my 1000H eee PC (just got for my birthday yay). Used the 1000H a little bit now and its working great. I did think performance would be on the slow side but it performs fine in what intended to be used for.

For me netbooks are what laptops should of always been. Lightweight, very portable, decent battery life. Makes it so much more practical than a normal 15.4" or bigger laptop.

So yeah back on topic if I had to make the choice between this or 1000H on when it comes out is there really much to disuade me for going for cheaper 1000H option?
