Like the original TripleHead2Go, the Digital Edition supports the same 3840x1024 maximum resolution if were honest, itd be nice if we could get even higher resolutions, but the limitation isnt Matroxs. The maximum resolution supported by DirectX 9 is 4096 x 4096 pixels (DX10 quadruples this to 8192x8192) and obviously three lots of 1600 pix. (4800 pixels wide) is more than 4096 pixels.
so if we were using directx10, you can get higher resolution? or matrox knew they were going for the directx 9 era and kept it 3840x1024 intil directx10 becomes more reasonable to the public?
it depends if they imposed the limit in the hardware - which is quite possible
But the problem will be there for a long time, even if you have a DX10 comptuer in vista, most of your games are going to be DX9 for the next few years - and you will hit the same problem
gday everyone. had a quick question about this unit ive been having trouble figuring out myself. I mainly
play racing sim games, gtr2,netkar pro, gtlegends etc.
could i run my 22inch widescreen as center screen and two 19inch lcd's as the side peripheral monitors?
Would it stretch the image ? or can you guys think of any other problems it might cause ?
So any vids ive seen on youtube of 3 x 22inch widescreens have been running below native res? they dont seem to look
poor or stretched or anything ? Is that somthing to do with them all being 22widescreens ? figured that would be making
4800 accross which is wearse than a 22 and 2 19's ?
sorry im just abit confused, what does the patch for widescreen monitors do. from what i understood it fixed the problem of
being over the 3840x1024 resolution if your running 3 x 22inch widescreens, is this correct?
Is the real problem with having a 22wide and 2 19non wides ?

Many games are designed to only work at certain resolutions so the patches are actually for those games to make the them understand just how wide the screen is. Widescreen Gaming Forum has some info on which games do and don't work.
TH2G will support 2*22" at full resolution but the max resolution with 3 monitors is 3840*1024 (so 3*22" would NOT be at full resolution). Also all 3 have to be at the same resolution (I don't think the TH2G supports any mixed resolutions (I'll check when I get home)) so if you put a 22" in the center it will be stretched. As I understand it some of the limits of the TH2G also come from the video cards - for example: ATI's 1*** cards can't even deal with a 3840 wide screen (at least not in 3D) - though the 2*** series is listed as ok (no info on 3*** last I checked).
My main concern about this product is the resolution. With Windows 7 in beta do you think we'll start seeing DX10 support for this guy? If so, will it just be a driver update or if I buy this now, will it be obsolete in a year?
Here's a video of it in action for an upcoming MMO.

thanks for your help guys.
It only supports a maximum resolution of 3840x1024 so you'll be running below native res on all of them.
