I always buy the vanilla version about 1 month before the one with the jazzy paint job comes out! Damn, the only consilation is it doesnt fit in with my color scheme. Looks loverly though, thanks for the update!

Yep, it seems you're right (even though Scan still don't list 1156 compatibility for it ).
Have a Black edition Rev C + Sycthe S Flex 1900 RPM and performance is great with just one fan. Will be even better when I add a second fan and go push/pull
Oh yes, I remember a fiasco about the TRUE having curved bottoms, and TR reps kept refusing to acknowledge the issue and said it was a feature to make it cooler. ;)
That was quite a while ago, and I'm not sure if they've changed now. One thing I do know is that TR products costs offensively high against their peers. >.> (Side note : Xigmatek happens to be the most reasonably priced CPU Cooler manufacturer in SG. =&)

Curvy bottoms are pretty cool if you ask me :P
Wait, are we still talking about heatsinks?
If I remember it correctly the TRUE heatsinks's CPU contact areas weren't flat - they were convex.

Not a rant or flame, just a suggestion that I think would put BT over the top on its quality of article content.
A quick test between the CM H212 (which beats the Fenrir in my testing) gave 75C and our XSPC WC kit (X2O, Delta V3, 7/16th tubing RS240 with 2 ~65 CFM fans) got 60C (actual not relative) with a hefty overclock on an upcoming CPU.
For good reviews of watercooling gear have a look at Martins Liquid Labs.
yeah a lapped true is pretty good.. this christmas edition looks nice- like that red color, it'd go good with ati
if I was buying right now.. I'd get this- 10 in performance from bit-tech =] probably did something right.. don't think I even remember seeing a 10 given on hardware
doubt it'd hold up to a lapped true because we can stick the bigger fans on em.. but for that price very nice
I know this is a little old, but does anyone know if this cooler can be mounted with the fan in a North/South orientation instead of the East/West that is traditional?
If anybody is like me, and found no instruction for the socket 1156, (even after reading bit-techs 1st page instructions, and not getting a clear picture in mind) then click on the pdf manual from the product page. That should help anyone who is stuck.

Am about to build the titan on my gigabyte P55M-UD4 board, so i can try differnent possitions before i apply the thermal paste.
So far i noticed the mounting bracket will fit even if i turn it 90 degrees. But havnt tried with the whole thing yet.
Maybe the product link i just posted might help...?

Mine's sitting quite happily blowing towards the roof fan in my 300, mounted on an MSI 770 C45 ;)

Just tried it, and you can mount it anyway. I also noticed on the product page one of the pictures is showing the fan is facing East, while on the pdf guide it is facing south.
Just be care full the fan doesn't hit the ram, the cooler is very big!

Yeah, you can. On most high end Asus 1366 boards and when using tall memory modules, if the heatsink is mounted "East-West" the fan frame will interfere with the memory, so you can also mount it "North-South" and avoid that problem.

I would have to change mine to be east-west if I'd bought my ram more recently, I have nice low-profile heatsinks and the XMS3 on scan atm seems to be pretty pointy. Helpfully my board has the channel groups paired up beside each other rather than separated, never understood why most boards don't do that...
@October, thanks for the compliment on the sig, Twain was one quirky guy, just read some of his quotes. You can find a bunch online. This has to be my favorite by far though.

I think it comes with a cable that has in inline resistor in it.

Also note the base that makes contact with the CPU is not square. see bit-techs picture from the review for more of an idea.
