lack of cable management, lack of motherboard tray cpu bracket hole, and so on, come on people lol thats what duck tape and a dremel is for =p seriously some of the complaints Im seeing about this case is so irrelevant and can easy be overcome with some minor work, yes people work, you know that little thing that involves not being lazy, sheesh stop expecting everything to be handed to you lol.
warning old timer rant although Im only 24 lol.... in my day we were given a shell and that was it, we had to do all our fancy customizations our selves, these kids now and day, want want want cant be happy... =p
The SATA hot swap adapter can be relocated to other slots by removing the two
screws that hold it from behind.
I mainly want it cool (esp to oc a Core i7 920), quiet (to record w/Cakewalk),
and keep the dust out. Comparing the Anandtech and non-Raven bit tech temp
results, it cools a CPU better than a CM HAF 932 or Antec Nine hundred Two, and
GPU cooling ability falls between a 932 and a Silverstone Fortress--about like a
CM ATSC 840, and better if you leaving the lid ajar. Whatever else is true, it's
better than ones good in those ways at being quiet and good at keeping dust out.
I'd mainly go for another if it's better in all those ways or as good at those
but better in other ways.

You know, some people don't have the necessary tools or skills to mod a case, also having only a small room avalaible is another issue, on top of that, pc taken apart for modding = no working pc, besides, in the good old times you paid how much for a case? 10£? 20£? we are talking about 100£+ these days, so it's only normal to expect more.
At first look I love it!
But until now I only heard negative comments, so If you guys, that are more into this things than I am, think that this is not a good case,
what other GOOD case models do you recommend???
Mainly keeping the condition of "all black", from the outside to the inside.
Here we go:
Looking at the threads here, I know this seems like a dead issue, but, I had to throw my 2 cents inn anyway.
I have a Raven RV01. After doing a lot of research on what case I wanted for my next gaming rig, I went with this one for several reasons.
1: looks. You have to admit, it does make you notice it. I personally like the stealth fighter / Mecha styling of this case.
2 size. If you want a full size tower, this one has a tonne of room in it. My meathook size paws suffered no cuts as I intalled
All my components.
3 Overall construction. Yes, it is steel and plastic, but, if you've ever actually fiddled with one you find that it is well contructed. No
flimsy side panels that warp, the plasic is durable and in my opinion, well crafted and fitted. This case is built to last.
As far as all of it's detractors go, No case is perfect. The Raven , in my opinion is an advanced case for those who want unique looks and are willing to put in a little extra effort to build themselves a one of a kind machine. If you want a basic box to throw you hardware in a forget about it, buy an antec 900.lol
P.S The stacked cooling effect does work well. my 920 is mildly O.C'd to 3.06 ghz and never gets above 43 deg celsius under load
Well after using my Raven RV02 for a while now, I only have one real complaint, the reset button, it is to large and way to easy to accidentally hit... my hand has rested on that button while plugging things in the top IO and because of that bam instant restart of the computer. I ended up unhooking that button because really when is the last time someone used a reset button anyways.

+1 - I shouldn't have to hack a hugely expensive case to make it work in an acceptable fashion, the design should just incorporate something as basic as wire management. I fail to see how the designers failed to consider the possibility of wires inside a computer; it's bizarre. The more expensive the case is, the less likely I am to take a dremel to it, and therefore the more features I expect it to incorporate out-of-the-box.

Just out of curiosity, what made you go to the Raven 2?
BTW, I do agree with the reset button issue. I'm looking for a way to easily mod something to differentiate the 2....lol

Such as; brushed aluminium and the rear being able to house a large rad. and provide a mesh.
I might just get something else now...
Actually , you can mount a 3 x 120 rad on the back, Silverstone even supplies mounting brackets for that purpose

Well I received it as a review sample for my website and well I really liked the concept and wanted to give it a more long term try, Im into cars and this had a real sporty look to it. Other then the reset button being stupidly easy to push, its been a great case.

Actually it doesnt mount to the back, it mounts to the bottom, right to the two 180mm fans, I have a triple installed there now.
I think we have a mixup in comms. Looking at my RV01, it shows the rad being mounteed behind the back panel. I looked up the RV02 and it showed the rad mounted on the bottom.I apologize for the mixup, To me , it sounded like phae's comment was there was no place on the back of the RV01 to mount a rad

Just got a hold of an NZXT sentry LX fan controller and was thinking of using it in my case. I have 2 of the silverstone 180mm adjustable fans in there already , but, don't like the supplied controller(simple rheostat). The sentry can handle 4 watts, while the fans are 5.4 watts, Given the fact the fans are slightly more wattage than the controller, Do you think I can get away with using it on them?
Thanks

I would believe you could, just set the main switch of the fans thats built into the fan to high and then use your controller to contoll the speed, granted you may not get the full RPMs capable of those fans do to the lower wattage but at least you will have a better ability to fine tune it, Im using the Sentry fan controller, the one that takes up two bays for mine and Im running the white performance 180mm fans and it works out great.

Quick question for ya, if you don't mind
