i have been toying with the idea of gettin one of these ever since my xbox came back from getting the RROD repaired it now sounds like a jet fighter!

There'll be more coming, don't worry.

OT: I can't wait for this - I might finally grab myself a 360 and get that badboy in a pimped out watercooled XB01. :D

How long before microsquish catches the hint and makes a version of their own?:)

Think its time to install some interal watercooling :) and bring on the new update to play games from the HDD :)

I must say I actually prefer the look of the elite to that, I don't like the front grill, bit meh IMO.
Liquid K9 26th August 2008, 17:53 Quote
i like the idea of after market cases for the 360, but im sorry, if it destroys my rrod warranty.... without some significant evidence that this case prevents the probleme entirely, im keeping it in its boilersuit for the time being.

i also agree, the elite looks better... with so many grilles on that thing, the dust intake is gonna be immense!

From what Doug says, it's the mobo warping thanks to the X-clamps on the heatsink when it gets too hot. Replace those and it works fine, keep it cool, and it shouldn't warp. :)

I could only find one water block/kit for the 360... the Innovatek X-Matic. Any chance you guys could do some benchmarks... Stock 360 In Original Case vs. Stock 360 Cooling in Lian-Li vs. Water cooled in Lian-Li ?

http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2643.html => these guys are in the UK and seem to carry it. Not cheap though :(

It looks very spacious inside, maybe mod a PC into it :P

From the videos of the new dash update I have seen, it appears you will be able to copy the game to the HDD, you only need to have the game disc in for verification then will load from the HDD

OMG:

That is so amazingly, incredibly, astoundingly BORING.

All that waiting, and build up, and this is the result.

Sheesh, wake me up when someone makes an interesting case.

Urgh!! I hate it when companies do this, it's complete BS.
hodgy100 26th August 2008, 21:46 Quote
im sorry but you shouldnt have to buy a new case for a console to make it more reliable. if people just want the xbox to looks "cool" then fair enough but if someone was to buy this for the sole purpose of avoiding the RROD , its wrong and customers shouldnt have to deal with this :/

You don't need to, I've done just fine for the last 2 and a bit years.

Ahem, and who was the person to find the link to the site pre-ordering them??

BTW Bit's been mentioned on Digg and all the usual Tech sites round about now.

Seems like everyone's waiting for those temps and install pics.
Bursar 26th August 2008, 22:43 Quote
Can't see the point myself.

What would be interesting is to use the console a couple of hours a night, every night, in a typical bedroom/lounge setting. And then after a couple of weeks, see how much dust has been sucked into it and destroyed the potential cooling benefits.

He is doing them! Harry is bringing in another 360 to test against and I've got a nice green cathode we can spice it up with (I know, a bit too simple but I've not got anything else).

Somebody should make a hardware emulator that lets you change out the dvd drive while still letting the bios think its the old drive. While thier at it make one for the hdd too. Or am i just in fantasy land again?

Probably would ban you from xbox live if such a thing existed. jerks
Krikkit 26th August 2008, 23:15 Quote
I'm sure it's been tried Jojii - the inventiveness of console hackers can never be underestimated. :)

Could you imagine the modding potential?

Looking at the bottom of the case, it seems they maybe another optical flap? or is that sealed?
