It's like a big shuttle :p But for that price tag I'd expect a better video card :(

Personally, bang-for-the-buck wise, I'm surprised at this rating. We've seen some pretty crappy pre-built stuff floating around here for a very similar price range. Had I reviewed it, at least comparatively I would be giving this a bit more of a recommendation for those not wanting to get their hands dirty screwing with an MCE system.

With all that in mind, this is a well-designed system that you can conveniently source the parts for, and not at a horrendous cost. I will say, the SG01 case is one of the nicest I've had the opportunity to work with in regard to uATX...though "little bigger" than an SFF is debatable.

For everyone who wants some onboard video for the mobo, though, we have some new uATX stuff in the pipe from DFI and AOpen...

This is a great piece of kit, it's just that you can get less well-built PCs with similar specs from the likes of Evesham and Hi-Grade. It's only the price which is a caveat, and obviousy other graphics cards are available so that's not really a criticism as you can just ask for one of them when you order. If you like the spec and the price isn't a problem, it's a beautifully put together PC.

cheers for this review, this is exactly the mobo im looking at getting for my next project (and my first full-build PC)

im going for a 6800 ultra with ddr3, but apart from that, the specs im looking at are identical, and its nice to see it compared to the others.

I figure o can put this whole combo together with a nice 19" acer widescreen LCD for about £800, so to me £1300 seems a bit of a rip-off with a lesser graphics card, but then it'll take me a lot of sweat and tears to get it all working.

Im a linux head though, and dont plan to use MCE that much, only for the g/f and when the family are over to play games etc.

that said, nice review.

The chassis isn't cheap, and neither is that FusionHDTV card. Those two components alone will set you back over £200. And a 3800+ X2 is over £200 too. So this PC isn't really a rip-off, it's just not a bargain. I doubt you could really put it together exactly as specified for much less, if any cheaper at all, TBH.

It should be noted that the Silverstone SUGO SG01 is the revised 'Evolution' model. The earlier model only accommodates two 60mm fans at the rear and top of case.

There’s also a curious cowling over the expansion slots with room for two 80mm fans,
MUUUUUU!!!! :p

Yep. :) Both ATI's rX200 chipset and NV's 6150 allow onboard graphics to be one adapter of a multimonitor setup. As long as you use their brand of card for your usual GPU, that is.. ;)

With the ATI models, I know you can even get 3 screens running. I'm not sure if NV's offers the same ability or not, I'll know when I get more into this DFI uATX board over here... ;)
