Hi, just wanted to thank both bit tech and all the contributors to their forums who collectively gave me the confidence to try to build my son a pc. Whilst i did stray a little from the recommended spec of the budget build recommended in November's buyer guide, I am very pleased with what I have achived for less than £400 (and that includes Windows 7 Pro!)
PS If the antec three hundred is really better than the coolermaster centurion it must be an amazing piece of kit because I couldn't fault the coolermaster in anyway (not that I have anything to compare it with :) )
The other problem is that sooner or later ATi (and NVIDIA too) abandon development of drivers for their graphics cards to force you to buy new ones, leaving you orphaned and unsupported. Then, you will be truly screwed, unlike if you had a single simple card, because your entire system depends upon the drivers for optimization. The same goes for multi-GPU 'cards.

Oh you only missed a whole year, this is dated January 2010.
The new buyers guide is on the to do list but with staff holidays, staff out at CES and an illness we've been a little short on man power this past week or so.
As a result nobody has been able to find the two days or so spare that it takes to churn through the buyers guide.
