Computex 2014 - BitFenix

The BitFenix stand this year was particularly eye-catching thanks to a number of colourful LED-lit builds populating it – naturally we were drawn towards it like flies.

The first thing we saw was the budget friendly ATX Neos case – we reported on this launch last month but it was good to finally see it in the flesh. It crams plenty of features in, and given that it will cost just £30 the quality of the deisgn and materials is particularly pleasing. It's available in a whopping ten different colour combinations too, so we can see it being a real hit among value-conscious buyers.


Some of the Neos builds also featured a couple of other new BitFenix products. BitFenix is yet another company getting involved with AIO liquid cooling, and it had a prototype model on display known only as Project Riptide at the moment. It looks like a fairly standard 120mm radiator model with an LED lit pump unit and thick rubber tubing. The other product is further along in development – the Recon II touchscreen fan controller. This has colour switching so you can better match your case's aesthetic, and there are two 30W channels as well as outputs for powering LED strips. It's set to retail for around £40.


We also saw three other upcoming BitFenix cases, all of which were rather different in design – the deisgns aren't final yet and as such pricing hasn't been confirmed. The beastly cube-shaped Atlas, due for release this year, has an aluminium exterior and a massive side panel window. Inside there is room for four 360mm radiators, as well as two five bay hot-swap drive cages – it could well be the new best friend of water-coolers looking to build an uber system.


Next up is the Pandora, a mini-ITX chassis that again features an aluminium exterior, including curved panels which simply pull off the side of the case – no screws required. It also features removable dust filters, tool free drive fittings and an LCD logo display on the front – apparently this will be upgraded to a brighter and clearer OLED display in the final version. It's also due for release later this year.


Finally, we saw the Aegis, a micro-ATX case designed with water-cooling in mind and set for release early next year. It's capable of housing both a 360mm and a 240mm radiator and has pump mounts and built in fan/pump control too.
