Yeah :D I installed the 314.07 drivers.

Nvidia control panel

Only changed refresh rate & I started at 70hz going up by 5hz at a time testing each one until it screwed up at 115hz lol.
Somewhere along there is a warning it could damage your screen & you have to accept that to go forward but anyone who overclocks does this anyway, just keep in mind it could void the warranty of the monitor, if they can prove it was overclocked & I don't see how they could prove it other than myself saying this is what I done right here. :D

Saved the ones that worked good & I can select the refresh rate I want now when you right click desktop & go to screen resolution, then monitor tab & they are all there for selecting & they all work nicely. :)

It's awesome. :D

That sounds great - although I'm half expecting a slew of people in the market for a new monitor, after pushing things too far on an ageing model. Then we'll find that Waynio just happens to have a couple of dozen monitors for sale. :) :p

j/k

Monitor overclocking...that's great....I thought this was just a feature of Titan.....didn't realize it was available to all in the driver.....excellent....thank you Nvidia....may have saved me forking out on a 120hz screen.

i actually... just bought the gtx 690 a couple of days ago. i don't regret the purchase at all since it was an upgrade from a HD 6970. i will see for the actual performance reviews and might think of trading with another local user.

the one thing i would definately love once i get back home would be the ability to overclock the monitor. still gaming on a single full HD screen I will see if it is applicable on the Dell, if not the Samsung which uses TN.

anywhoo, regarding the 4K gaming. it's way too early for that. I was thinking of buying one since there is one by sharp (model: pnk321) which was launched in japan last week. it could have been useful but in just gaming and the momentary work that I do, it's not worth it to buy now. even in Japan it would still take at least three years for the content and other 4K infrastructure to be there. although there are 4K movies on blu-ray presumably those by sony out but in terms of content its still limited. even then the only other content that i can think are those found on youtube and timescapes.

Nor does the other guy need his BMW 5-series (or the other guy with the slighly newer 5-series, or the guy with the Cadillac...I could go on, I work with a bunch of mid-life-crisis salespeople.)

I'd guess this will be bought largely by dudebros who think of themselves as gamers who spend daddy's money to have their "geek friend" build them a "wicked awesome" gaming PC.

You sound supremely jealous and aggro.

Nobody said anything about needing this card or a ferrari or whatever. But it's nice to have nice things if you have the money. This thing serves a purpose to people who like to do extreme things with their games, like play something like Arma2 with all the settings on full, and on a huge screen or multiple huge screens. If I had the money, I would want 1 or 2 of these cards and so would you if you had plenty of money to spend.

I don't have the money, that's why I have a cheap ford car and an HD5870, but at least I'm not going to insult everyone who does have nice stuff in a pram tipping tantrum.

^_^ what he/she said.
Have you never dreamed of building a money no object PC, wishful thinking can be fun :)
I mean im never going to able to buy a Bugatti Veyron, But i still watch Top Gear.

Need to add something I found.
Turns out the pixel clock is still limited in the drivers when changing the refresh rate the pixel clock doesn't scale up with it like it needs to to function perfectly through the DVI dual link cable, that didn't prevent an OK bump on the refresh rate on 1 card for me but did cause mini freezes on SLI past 80hz though.

Someone called ToastyX has been making patches to unlock the cap to make it scale right on NVidia & AMD cards, I think it's only the newer past 2 gen cards supported at the moment but think they are making them for older cards as they get more support, his latest patch was made before the latest NVidia drivers but still works nicely, I feel I owe them a donation for doing this. :)

Since applying the patch my monitor has played perfectly well at 100hz in SLI which is still quite a hefty bump from 60, very noticeable change in normal computer use & gaming, monitor was set to 59hz instead of 60 when it can do much higher. :D

Me thinks the screen overclocking "innovation" is 1 of the reasons for the far higher price on the titan which to me signals a bit of a slow patch for leaps forward in GPU's but something for the super keen enthusiast, I'd sooner buy a 690 or what I got, 2 670s which is even cheaper & could go cheaper still with 660s but sure if I was making mountains of interest from massive money in the bank like quite a few people will have I'd keenly pounce on these titans, why not, some like supercars, some like super rigs, I like Godzilla rigs, just can't afford them though so lower my expectations of things. :)

Still looking forward to what these titans can do though, awesome single GPU.

Thanks for the info - I plan to try this out tonight.

No sure about that, especially if other cards can do it with the new drivers. Are wee likely to see NV ,disable the feature in the drivers for all but the Titans I wonder?

Maybe not but it just wouldn't surprise me for some reason if they realised people know it's not a special perk to the titan alone.

Hopefully they will keep it going for everyone because they could do. :)

Nice thing about it is I can switch it right back to 60hz very easily when I'm not gaming to promote longevity.

Unless you are comfortable with possibly damaging the monitor steer clear of it though, I just feel it's a worthy trade of possibly having to go back to a 1080p HDTV as my main screen "if" it happens to die prematurely.

Here is some shots of far cry 3, skyrim & crysis 3 maxed out at 100hz, click to see full size, yep I'll use thumbs from now when appropriate. :D

The sad thing is that the review will have been written and edited a while back, it's just a case of a button not being pressed as quickly as it should have been.
