Damn no one told my wife's HD4870 this.

It easily manages mid 40's at a mixture of high and medium settings.

Incidently barring the resolution difference it looks no different to BF3 running on my HD7970.....

Really? I can tell the difference quite easily, its effectively the difference between playing on medium, compared to ultra.

Me too bro. Hoping the 7870 comes in around £250, otherwise a 7850 will have to do :P

I have that same card, however I game at 1080p and have held off getting BF3 untill I get my next GFX card.

The 4890 has been a great card tho and was a worthy replacement for my 8800GT 27 months ago now,
I remember at the time I could have spent more for a card with DX11 capabilities, but I went for pure FPS/price, and as I love Windows XP and stilll use it, happy to have let DX11 pass me by tbh.

Will be nice to finally play BF3 & Crysis 2 DX11/HD Textures once I can finally afford a new card,
Maybe, just maybe I'll try to hold off, or just be skint untill after the next generation of consoles have been released then better them with my GFX card, that card could last for years.

The new AMD 78xx cards look nice but I'll wait to see what Nvidia has planed then go for the best bang for buck as always (if I have the cash).

:? Yes, otherwise I wouldn't have made the statement.

To clarify playing at medium / high on my wife's HD4870 looks basically the same as playing at medium / high on my HD7970 minus the massive resolution/speed difference.

Perhaps I could tell the difference if I screenshotted it and then looked at the images in detail but I have no time for that - well that and it would be a bit difficult given that one will be at 3560x1920 and the other 1680x1050...

Would actually kill for a single slot solution!!! Praying one of the vendors does it.

To wait for HD 7850 and hope it will cost about 200€... or get GF GTX560Ti OCed version for 200€ right now?
Deeon 8th March 2012, 08:48 Quote
That is 200 Euros.
