Is there any particular reason why so many manufacturers (I know they are from the same OEM) are choosing to put the silly piece of plastic there? They much have done some research into it, because otherwise they wouldn't have changed from the norm. This must surely mean that there is some benefit to it?

Why did you test it at 800W though? Its a 650W power supply isn't it?

agreed on the mutirail thing... When they first advertised this as a feature to look for a was a bit unsure, cause really, there are some single rail ones out their with like 60 amps... oh well I guess this is what the market wants

lol, that's not our offices - that's in Enermax's UK offices (where we borrow their equipment to test the PSUs ourselves).

Nope, they trained us to use the machine and then they just leave us to it. The power supply manufacturers (collectively) actually want their units tested properly (i.e. with a load machine), so they're more than happy to support us where they can with allowing us to use the machinery. :)
