Tbh I kinda like the color... But the design looks like it's stolen from Thermaltake or something. I don't like these Stacker-type of cases to begin with as I don't have 20 hard disks and am not planning to put two Zalman Reserators inside my case, so why not just offer them proper Lian-Li cases in red? The last thing I want is the damn Ati ad on the side of my case, but I hope they don't force anyone else but Tim to get one of those :D

What has happened to Lian Li? The days of their understated clean designs have gone obviously.

man, that is ugly! i will be sticking with my pc-7b

I'd like to know why anyone would get THAT over the Cosmos S
Quote Colossous 25th February 2008, 13:30
Lots of room (looks like it would be good for watercooling with some chopping !) and scope for modding this case but at £200 starting price its steep !
Quote badders 25th February 2008, 13:44
I still don't see how someone can spend over £40 on a case...

Especially a red one.

I've said before that I'm a LiLi whore, but the Armoursuit Series do nothing for me. I'm glad you guys got one in for review though. I'm just not big on that....speedbump up top. I like to drop in rads in the tops of my LiLi's, so that kind of gets in the way, lol.

Ditto. Their 'simpler' cases are a lot more clean-looking (great for modders and non-modders alike), and cheaper to boot.

As for the case, damn that's fugly!
What were Lian Li thinking when they designed it???

/me checks its not april 1st...
Quote Cadillac Ferd 25th February 2008, 15:29
I like the red color, it's neat, not very Lian-Li-ish though is it? Overall I think the case is a bit too fugly for its own good but I guess it shows Lian-Li's attempts to reach out to that sector of the gaming market that do want an outlandish (for lack of a better word) eXxxtreeeeeeme looking case. Now if only Lian-Li would send bit-tech a pc-a70 so I could read a review of it that I could trust...

I think I like it, actually. I don't like the ATI branding and the window, but overall the case is pretty nice. The color seems to be pretty cool as well (all though i wouldn't want it myself). I would prefer the black version, though.

The one thing I don't like is that lump at the top of it. There MUST be a better way of doing that...

I think the hump could work well. After all, look at Koolance's cases with the built-in rad/res there. But it would need to be full length. And then there's not so much need for all the fans at the front, and then you might as well get something else.

And that's what scares me. ;)

That is one fugly case. Did Lian-Li hire a designer from Thermaltake?

agreed. fugly doesn't even cover it.

I hate Cases that sound like a vacuum cleaner in the middle of the night as i try to get by my night of gaming. All i ever get from my parents is turn that thing off. So i spend $100 on noise dampening, silent fan (only 1 in case 120mm) etc. Large Heat sinks etc. This case sucks. Too many Fans, Looks like scrab metal with shady paint.
Quote samkiller42 25th February 2008, 18:09
tbh, it looks relativley good, in my opinion, and i do like and do own a lian li, but what puts me off, is the Top of the case, and the DOOR, i hate doors with a passion. I quiet like the side panel, and it almost suits it too, shame its ATI branded:(

This would look MUCH better in black, but it still wouldn't be particularly nice.

I love most Lian-Li cases though. I'd love to get either a V1200B or a V1100B, but I don't have the cash and my PC-65 is soooooo nice. :)

Scrab metal :? Scrap, I'm assuming. LOL. Don't get me wrong; I'm sure the build quality is like any other LiLi; very high quality. I just don't dig on front doors and that weird...thing...up top. I like to drop my own buttons in, etc. I dunno. Perhaps I'm in the minority.
Quote sheninat0r 25th February 2008, 20:37
I don't think this case looks bad, and I think a lot of you are getting too hung up over the color... Having said that, I'd take a PC-A7x over it anyday, since the A7x doesn't have the fans in front and is much easier to make quieter. The interior is almost identical, except the A7x has two PSU slots [one on top, one on bottom] and 7 expansion slots instead of 10.

I think some pictures of the regular, black/blue version put in the article off Lian-Li's website [for comparison] or something would be better than overwhelming us with red.
Quote brinkz0r 25th February 2008, 20:47
I am definately going to mod that case, if I'm able to get my hands on one. Already found it on the Lian Li site a few weeks ago, but it's just the price that's holding me back.

Yeah. $200 or so is my limit, although I'll go over that a bit if it truly warrants it. But $400? No way. I cut holes in all my stuff anyways, so $400 is ridiculous. Go for the A70 series. Looks much better IMHO, and it's cheaper.
Quote kgwagner 25th February 2008, 21:20
This case is quite a disappointment. I expect more out of Lian Li than dysfunctional ergonomically difficult and aesthetically unappealing kiddie cases that are priced to stay on the shelves forever. I think the Lian Li engineers must have been kidnapped by psychotic aliens who forced them to do their bidding. It's the only explanation that makes sense. Either that, or they foolishly hired some American marketing weenies and followed their crackheaded advice.
