Scythe Kama Cross (continued):
Performance:
The Kama Cross put up a very respectable showing in our performance testing one we’d got around the mounting issues and it only trailed behind the leaders by a few degrees. Unlike the Infinity, we recorded respectable PWM temperatures with the Kama Cross – the third lowest in fact.
The included 100mm fan was generally inaudible throughout testing making only a slight hum. This noise would be easily lost amongst the noise made by other components inside your case.

Conclusion:
Scythe’s Kama Cross CPU cooler delivers good cooling performance with a low-noise fan at a fairly middle-of-the-road pricepoint. One thing to watch out for is the push-pin mounting system, as there is a greater margin for error with this mechanism. We prefer the screw-down mechanisms that many other coolers employ as, if designed properly, there aren’t going to be cooling problems that are a result of a poor contact with the CPU core.

Having said that though, the Kama Cross is a good CPU cooler that’s not difficult to mount providing you take good care to ensure there is a good contact with the CPU die. It follows on in the (rather large) shadow of the Infinity and isn’t too far behind it in the performance stakes – the benefit is that it’s not going to cause you to lose your rag when you’re mounting it.
