I have no idea. Try every Molex and other PSUs? Take it all out the case and try it on a desk?

I hooked up a brand new OCZ 700w PSU and this time it wouldn't even turn on. I unplugged the molex from the DVD drive, and it still wouldn't turn on. I unplugged the floppy drive and it turns on!? There were no problems with the floppy drive prior to this.. So, with the floppy unplugged, I plugged in the DVD drive, and the system turns on, but again the DVD drive is not getting any power. It's a brand new PSU, but I still tried different molex connectors - nothing. I don't get it. Why is the PSU working fine, but no optical drive I have will take the power? The same molex connectors that won't work in the drive power the case fan without any trouble.

maybe the FDD is fudged, but since you plugged the DVD drive into a dead PSU you've fudged that too, so now you require a new DVD drive (again)

also, if the PSU is supplying too high a voltage, perhaps the DVD drive couldn't handle it, but the mobo and other things could

Haha! Yeah. I think I still have an 8-inch floppy drive floating around here somewhere..

It turns out that ...somehow... ALL five drives got fried. I don't know how, but it happened. I tried a sixth drive and "EUREKA!" It's a shame too, because I was just about to send everything back and climb back out of debt...

Thanks for all the help!
