I think that may be the lowest value score you have ever given. Well deserved
Quote Krikkit 31st May 2007, 15:55
Definately well-deserved, £540 for a card that isn't really much faster than the GTX is absolutely ridiculous imho. Alright you've got the bragging rights of "fastest on the planet", but even so, is it worth the price?

What psu do you use for the GTX SLi setup? :)
Quote DXR_13KE 31st May 2007, 16:15
that is a 1000$ graphic card...... and consumes power like hell.... srem these guys, i want them cheaper and less power consuming.

Single slot stupidly fast cards ftw!!
Quote bubsterboo 31st May 2007, 17:47
I want to see some evga superclocked 8800 ultras in sli! Kinda curious about the fps you would get with that.
Quote pendragon 31st May 2007, 18:14

Quote leexgx 31st May 2007, 18:33

So when are we seeing a Black pearl review ? (eVGA 8800 Ultra WC'ed for those who didn't know)

A behemoth of a card the superclocked Ultra, that's what I think.
Quote tech3312 31st May 2007, 23:58
The price is very high but it packs a punch and make it beautiful i perfer the EVGA KO Series ;)
Quote Veles 1st June 2007, 00:42
Bloody hell thats one pricey card, it'll probably cost you another £500 a month in leccy bills to power the thing as well XD
Quote completemadness 1st June 2007, 02:03
this thing costs more then a modest computer, or 1/2 a decent gaming rig

i really don't see why anyone wants it, isn't it just an overclocked GTX, why not just buy the GTX and overclock it

Ahh, but its not. It's an overclocked ULTRA. Very important difference you know. :p

This was how much I wanted to spend on my computer, and now they release a card just as expensive... Way to immasculate me EVGA.

EVGA will throw in a FREE 680i LT mobo with this or any of their 8800 Ultra cards.

Story at The Inquirer here:- http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=39981

Cheers Tim, I was wondering how the 620HX was classed as SLi but I assume the GTS only needs one 6pin PCI-E power connector?

I don't know if I would want that :o is it really worth the price tag :?
Quote Hells_Bliss 8th June 2007, 03:44
whelp, if you want the best, the yes :P otherwise, buy an 8800gts or gtx

nVidia is sitting very happy at the moment. My eVGA 8800GTX has dropped all of $20USD from when I bought it several months ago. They won't be dropping their prices anytime soon...there's no viable competition at the moment.

Yep, GTS is one power connector per card. :)

For your information, if you ever buy an HD2900XT , you can email corsair and they will send you an adapter to plug a 6pin PCI-e cable in the 8pin one. You will, unfortunately, have to pay the shipping.

You dont actually need it though... it's just for..... actually it's pretty useless since you don't need it at all. Nevermind what i said !

The XFX 8800 Ultra XXX is both faster and 'cheaper', if that term can be used at all to describe the Ultra's !
Quote Tim S 13th June 2007, 11:10
We have a review of one of XFX's Ultras coming very soon. ;)
Quote v-5 13th June 2007, 11:32
I'm 'reviewing' my own Ultra XXX right now ;)

675/1667/2300 core/shader/memory !!
