Seems like a lot of potential crippled by console weaknesses. Again.

reminds me of Black and White without creature, village management and muted godly powers.

Might wait for the steam sales, meanwhile...

I was really looking forward to this :/ I'll probably still give it a go though- Is there a free play mode? IE it just sticks you on randomly generated island with random or no objectives?

I'm eagerly awaiting the PC review as the PC specific previews have been really high for this title. Hopefully you guys revist it when the now delayed PC version ships.

I'm glad you reviewed it on the 360 though as from videos I'd seen it almost seemed like a controller would be ideal and I was going to look for it on my PS3.

Agreeing with the first post the res is probably due to out-dated hardware in consoles not keeping up. I'll still definitely be gettin this though roll on august!

It's made me miss Populous now......

:(

The visuals manage to evoke an iconic look, while also calling back to the later Populous titles.

I must say I am a little disappointed. You have no idea how much I was looking forward to this game. For once, I am kind of glad that the PC version is delayed, since hopefully it means they can iron out the wrinkles.

I'd re-install B&W if it wasn't for the unskippable tutorials..... what a pain in the ass.

So did you guys test the PC version? is the score representative of the PC or Xbox version??
Tsung 27th July 2011, 14:42 Quote
I guess the score represents the Xbox version as that is the version they reviewed... Hopefully the PC version will be better I suppose it depends which was it is ported?. I mean is it a PC game converted to consoles, or is it going to be a console game converted to PC. :/
B1GBUD 27th July 2011, 15:56 Quote
I fear it'll be the latter.... :(

10 quid aint that bad for a game that will entertain for a few hours and that you will most likely come back to play at some point.

so let's be straight shooters for a minute here. Are you reviewing the PC version? Or are you sticking to the horriblest of the horrible?
veato 27th July 2011, 21:45 Quote
I'm downloading it now (on 360)
veato 27th July 2011, 21:49 Quote
Oh... Eurogamer and Edge both gave it 9. I'm not saying Bit are wrong but it's worth reading other reviews too rather than one and claiming "console gimped rubbish".
slothy89 28th July 2011, 04:51 Quote
Review on the PC, then I'll care about what you say. For the mechanics to work of course they need to cripple ai and graphics. It's an xbox! Scalable hardware or nothing :) I though bit tech was a PC focused group?

Did they review the console or PC version? The other reviews I've read were glowing yet still gave it scores in the 70% region.

We're reviewing the Xbox version now. That's why the review says Xbox on both pages. This was the version Ubisoft sent us and which we think they therefore consider to be the primary platform. If we can we'll obviously look at the PC version later, but considering that that was just delayed and that the only version of this highly anticipated game that's currently available is a console version, we thought we'd review that first.

The PC version is not out yet.

We are not a PC-only games site. We haven't ever been for as long as I've worked on the site (coming up to five years). We prefer a game on PC for the sake of accuracy of controls, tweakability, etc - but we're concerned more with good games than defining ourselves by platform. There are good games on Xbox and PlayStation, just as there are good games only on PC. We review on PC when we can, but we're not going to blind ourselves by pretending that we don't enjoy Rez as much as we enjoy Audiosurf.

Even RockPaperShotgun has written about the Xbox 360 version of the game.

Xbox AFAIK

I've been playing it this morning and really like it.
Bauul 29th July 2011, 15:42 Quote
The version Bit-Tech reviews is in italics at the top of every review.

In this case, yes it's the Xbox version.

Looking forward the PC review. This title has intrigued me, so your PC review will tip the scales for me.

Cheers. I wasn't making out that you shouldn't review 360 games or other consoles... I just wanted to know if you were going to review the PC version.

Also, I called the 360 the horrible because even now, I can't believe what a shambles the consoles beginnings were.

TBH, I can't be bothered with my console anymore because it isn't new and shiny.
Xir 30th July 2011, 08:25 Quote
Well, the PC version is sold on Steam, so it's out, no?

Reminds me of Populous..even graphicswise
