I got the demo on Steam, and it scared the hell out of me.. I'm not too good with horror games, I really didn't want to go into the classrooms or basically any part of the school besides the linear path.

Everything looks great though, a friend of mine is giving me the original, if this ever goes on sale on Steam I'll buy it.

Does that mean you've never played the original ?

if not, get it now. The game rocks its one of the few games that after playing the original I immediately want and brought the next 2 which was a pity as the last one wasn't as good but the first one scared the hell out of me as I was instructed by a so called friend, I have a few other words for him now that I should play it in the dark, late at night after drinking a couple of cans of red bull, which I duely did he then spoke to my Gf and got her to sneak into the room and got her to scream just as the tension was building it scared the beejsus out of me.

played the demo it looks like its gone back to the game play of the first one which is cool but I'm not sure about the exo-skeleton.

I bet my ass it degenerates into a 'shock' horror game very, very quickly. You can't do good horror with what might as well be infinite ammunition.

Looks pretty, though.

Your one of those weirdos who enjoyed Doom 3 arent you? :)

it comes on 3 dvd's and is a 11.3did install

tbh i thought it was going to be complete console trash and i really hated the demo, installed it lastnight and the final thing is better then i thought, but its just not FEAR, it lacks the POWER and VISCOUSNESS of the first and combat feels really watered down to appeal to the more casual gamer.

im really playing it to see how it lines up with the FEAR universe but im already dismissing it as a lite add on then a full blown sequal

Wait, what? The main character from the 1st installment was also one of Alma's children? Am I the only one that missed this point from the first game?

No. The plot was so scattered and made almost no sense. There was no point in trying to follow it.

F.E.A.R. 1 had better combat. 2 just feels slow.

I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!

Okay if your really going to play this game, first you will have to do it on PC not console, then you need to play on 24" or larger (for me its a 30" doublesight DS-305w) Monitor and surround sound (for me 7.1) and in pitch black. This game will give you shivers down your spine, oh how I love it.

There is a little boy that shows up from time to time, I wonder if hes the younger version of that one guy that you have to kill in the first FEAR??? anyhow ya I am loving this game. ^__^

The graphics and detail has come a long way from the first one and demo from the first one scared the living sh*t out of me!!! Although it was the first time I played a horror game ( I am not a horror fan not even horror movies) I give this title 10/10 for horror games (and it is a biased opinion since it is the first time I am playing a horror game).

no lol the little BOY not Alma, who shows up once in the demo, when your going through the brick hallways around the subway portion, there is a little boy that appears behind you right when your going around a bend to break down another door.

Nope, didn't see a boy in the demo. Maybe I missed it.
Seems to be alot of things in FEAR 2 that you can miss. It's not all just linear-scaryness. =P

I have played through the original and have both expansions (haven't touched them yet). I can't wait to try this out, considering I got my new home theater lol ;).

3 DVDs and an 11GB install!?!?!? OMFG!!!
Stuey 17th February 2009, 16:54 Quote
I didn't see a boy in the demo either.

I think that the game is pretty nifty, although scene transitions are a bit choppy at times.

The first time through the demo, I got creeped out - the spectres are much scarier than previously, The second time through the demo was much better.

I played through on normal and then hard difficulties, and they seem mostly similar. Well, on the "hard" setting, the enemies dropped many more grenades when killed.

One thing I like about the "mech-type" armored thing is that it repairs itself when you hop out.
