Its so much better. I used to be a THPS person too.
Though its not easy, it just feels more real, cos you can't do (as much) godlike stuff like in TH.
I played a few of the THPS games that mates owned but as i skated alot back then i hated the fact you could endlessly string tricks together using flatland tricks so i usually got bored of them.
however a few years ago at a mates i found he had skate so had a go and picking it up really easily from teh tutorials on the first level i found the stick flicking to be quite intuitive and fun to use but always very difficult as being slightly off on say a kickflip ment i usually did a popshove-it or something to that effect. I loved the first game and will be getting the 2nd as soon as i can on teh strength of this review and also i need a new game like this to play when bored,
It's a great game. I do wish they would make it much longer as once I'm done all the challenges there isn't a whole lot to keep me playing it. Playing online just doesn't do it for me in this game. I like other games online but something about this game I don't like online.
Still very good and wayyy better than TH games. I haven't like TH since the 2nd one. That was my favorite game on PS1 and after that they all sucked.
Doing tricks can be a challenge if you need to do a specific one but it does get easier over time. I love doing my special Nollie Triple Heelflip 360. So much fun. :)
I haven't played a skateboarding game since THPS2, 3 kind of put me off as it was just 2 with the levels repainted. I'm not too keen on using the analogue stick for tricks though, I never button mashed as you can get much higher scores with proper timing and the right tricks.
Meh, so far nothing has topped the heights of running over hordes of zombies during Mardy Gra using a three-wheeler driving messenger of death in Tony Hawks Undeground 2. Who said something about the TH games being unrealistic?

ReplyCity is huge, loads to skate and explore.
I agree with the walking problems, and not doing the right tricks. I find that it does take a bit of practice to do the other flip tricks.

Now I hardly play it...
