The only other issue that lessens the impact of the horror is it that Miles is clearly a fun-runner

The word "it" doesn't need to be in this sentence...

Looks pretty good, if not my cup of tea so much.

Lain is perfectly fine in this context, also you could have just edited with your other, more astute correction.

Back to topic, I picked up Outlast last night. Only got to play it for an hour or so, but from what I've experienced so far, it's pretty damn good. The atmosphere within the game is fantastic, especially when you switch all lights off, turn up your volume and disable any extra screens etc. I'm not easily affected by jumpy horror games, so it was quite a pleasant experience to find myself dreading peaking around a corner or so.

I love the little details too like how you can open doors slowly, and being able to see the main character interact passively with surfaces like door frames. The video camera also makes for a more interesting light source than the traditional torch too.

Watched 20 minutes of Tim from Ctrl Alt Delete play this on his Twitch Channel - That's all I could take. Not a game I'm gonna buy. Took me 3 years to finish Dead Space 1

And there I had guns to shoot the creepies - this is just complete run and hide, or die. My heart can't take that

Can it be any worse than them bloody dogs which jumped through the windows in Resident Evil, nearly fell off me chair then and still can't walk down long windowed corridors without getting a cold sweat on, thanks Resident Evil
