I didn't refuse to play it - though I did admittedly drag my heels writing the review. So, so dull...

After noticing the second screenshot was captioned "slash", I just had to backpedal to make sure the first was "hack". Thanks for the smile :) It definately makes your hours of tedium all worthwhile (for me!).

This is why I couldn't be a games reviewer I admire your ability to be able to force yourself to play some of the awfully not fun games, oh the torture :(.

Currently loving Alice madness returns, enjoyed every minute of it so far ;).

not surprised! 20% sounds about right from what I saw of the game on "WTF is ..." series.

So they've based a game around the single most boring aspect of action RPGs - collecting loot and endlessly comparing it's stats to your own inventory's stats?

Every succesful RPG that springs to mind, from Final Fantasy 6 to Mass Effect 2, automates this to a some extent. Surely you think they would have noticed this?

By the way, Torchlight is on sale on Steam for €2,99 for a further few hours.

How does such a great franchise end up presenting us with a crap game like this one?

D&D Games haven't been consistantly amazing since the gold box days. Sure you had Baldurs Gate and IW:D, and a few nifty titles here and there using the liscense, but the consistancy of quality has generally been just above Star Trek games (which often dissapoint vs hype with minor exceptions here and there... and lately Star Wars has been getting some pretty bad stuff as well...), so just because the IP is amazing doesn't guarantee an amazing title.

Somehow it seems that since the "down dumbing" of D&D with 4.0 to make it playable with the miniatures games together everything goes down the drain. I just only hope that there doesnt go another Franchise and I will cling to D&D 3.5 and all the old good games that still deserved to be called D&D RPGs.
