Woodspoon: When are you going to introduce British tanks?
Wargaming.net: At the moment we're gathering all the necessary information on the British tanks and making initial sketches, which are tested by our QA people. The Brits will be introduced after the current nations are joined by the French, and these guys will be rolling down the hills of Prokhorovka and other locations pretty soon.
Sleepyjo2: Do you guys have a rough estimate (or better yet, a rough date) of when US tank destroyers will be deployed?
Wargaming.net: We will introduce American tank destroyers in a patch that will follow the 0.6.4 release, which is going to be rolled out in a couple of weeks. It was a harsh task to tweak their balance, but we are almost done with them. T95 will rule!
The existing US tanks will soon be joined by some tank destroyers
Sleepyjo2: When will the French tanks be released?
Wargaming.net: The French will be the next decent update after the American TDs. I can’t tell you the exact date, but you’ll be able to test them on a warm summer day.
metarinka: Will there be improvements to the HUD? For the uninitiated it's very difficult to tell the difference between a heavy tank and a medium tank from the tiny icon. A simple system that shows the tier of the tank (maybe an icon of rank) might help.
Wargaming.net: During the days of the Russian beta, we had an icon system that was so simplified you couldn't even distinguish between different vehicle-classes, simply because all vehicles had an upturned triangle above them. With the new system, you can easily tell what vehicle class you’re fighting against. A tank icon won’t work, because the size of icons makes them too similar. We reckon that the combination of a class icon and a tank icon is the best way to distinguish a tank model. If we add anything else, the interface will be too oversaturated.
Forthcoming training missions should help to ease the misery of driving training tanks such as this Russian MS-1
metarinka: Have you thought about making a tutorial on basic tank strategy, or training levels for beginners? Most new players don't know exactly what they are supposed to do, besides roll over and die.
Wargaming.net: We’ve already launched a series of video tutorials and have been getting very positive feedback from the players (i.e. the beta testers are saying they wish they had something like that at the beginning of the CBT). As for the training missions, we're working on training missions for beginners, which will simulate real-life training grounds with missions of variable difficulty.
