I have to agree with you. Loved the first one and "liked" the second.
But still one of the best this year.

Just as a side note, in terms of architecture and veicle (in both MEs), the design is awfully ugly as the devil sucking mangoes!

And that's the glory of a demoncractic vote: if you believe Mass Effect 2 wasn't very good, don't vote for it.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were in the minority though.

no arma2 OA? I can see why. It would have already won. Without that, i withdraw my vote from this feeble poll. I can see many voting some horrendous titles like black ops. Whooo, the same game as the last 3 and the same squeeky kids.

Arma 2 was last year and it did place in the top ten, actually.

LOL.

Personally I don't mind the picks at all, good selection ;), heavy rain totally stands out the most for me , just a pitty it's only on ps3.

I don't know what to vote for...

1st rule out anything with Steam as I don't buy games that use it...
2nd rule out anything with Securom that is more than a Key code and CD check as I don't buy games that use it...
3rd rule out games with other DRM than a Key code and CD check as I don't buy games that use it...
4th rule out Multiplayer only games as I don't buy/play multiplayer games.
5th rule out EDM only games as I don't buy games that use it...
6th rule out Sports games as I don't play them...

Oh.. there's nothing left!

Oh well...

It's a back-end thing.

It's an email harvesting thing. Nothing wrong with that, per se, but lets not dress mutton up as lamb.

Yeah, just a bit. It's like saying: "I'm not going to have sex with any woman unless she looks like Scarlett Johansson"

...well good for you buddy, but you're missing out on a lot of fun in the meantime!

Mass Effect 2, BFBC2, Heavy Rain.

I've only played BFBC2. On the entire list of entrants. ME2 gets my vote based purely on how much one of my friends keeps going the hell on about it (there must be something to it, he has murderously picky tastes and rarely likes anything).

Heavy Rain got my vote for being story-driven in a serious, adult way, when most games are busy turning into Roland Emmerich films. I don't want gaming to become the new Hollywood, all stupid, melodramatic, repetitive, unintelligent attention-grabbing action. It can do better than that.

Actually, you're left with VVVVVV and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which are both great and can be had Steamless from their official sites (http://www.amnesiagame.com/#buy and https://sites.fastspring.com/distractionware/instant/thelettervsixtimes - VVVVVV is less than £5 and Amnesia can even be bought in Linux and Mac compatibile builds).

Flotilla would also qualify (again, buy from the official site, pay £3 extra if you want a hard copy on CD, http://www.blendogames.com/) and is very good.

That combo also accommodates for taste - one shooter, one strategy and one puzzle game.

I do wish people would do some research before they claimed to have such strong opinions, especially when they incorrectly try to turn them into accusations...

is there any way to just give starcraft 2 all 3 of my votes?

No I wasn't being sarcastic. I don't by games that use Steam as I have had nothing but problems with them in the past and don't agree with the concepts involved.

I only buy games that use simple 'safe' copy protection such as a simple CD check, Key Code or one off Internet activation, Again out of principle

I think draconian DRM systems are pointless and just cause problems for the user, the only people who gain from them are the makers of the DRM such as Sony. They don't stop the pirates at all so the games companies are not the ones gaining anything.

As for not playing MultiPlayer and Sports games that's just personal preference.

We've all got our own opinions and if you are happy with Steam and DRM then good for you...
