Lol. I'm at least as much a CnC fanboy as anyone here, but I can remain objective enough to see that a game isn't broken just because it's not the way you want it to be.

It's from the same jealous PC gamers who resent the success of consoles, and the fact that the latest releases from them are better than anything on the PC, it's as simple as that. Games like GoW 3 are an indictment , if anything, of whats possible and whats happening in gaming, and it's not happening on the PC! They see that, and it hurts. I'm just shocked at the lack of outrage over the SAME DRM AS ASSASSIN'S CREED, a constant internet connection! What hypocrites! If you look at it, it's the devs saying that they don't trust PC gamers.

The whole wrap up the story deal aims the game squarely at those who liked the previous ones, so changing too much just doesn't fit into this game, besides, why not save the innovation (or messing it up depending on point of view) for whatever new story they will start after the whole GDI vs. NOD thing?
Console Vs Pc arguement: Some games are better on console, some on PC. Pc has the advantage of better hardware. Consoles "just work". Both are good. Kthx bye.
C&C 4.....
Let me get this across, I have every C&C game, all the collectors editions once they started making them. Joe Kucan as Kane has to be one of my favourite computer game characters ever (just watch out takes from the making of them, he loves having a laugh). Unfortunately since EA bought out Wetwood the games just haven't been quite the same, and from the beta and this review...I may give this game a miss till it drops in price (a lot).
End of an era in games, and it goes out with a whimper....
Oh and as for Generals and Zero Hour being the best C&C games...no, not really. Good RTS alright, but not the best C&C.
What a shame to bring such an enjoyable series to a dismal finale. Since C&C took everything out of this game that I liked about the series, I guess Blizzard will be getting my $50 for Starcraft 2 instead of EA!
EA vs EAs DRM
...
Sometime games journo Jeff Green has been having a good old moan about the DRM on Twitter: Booted twiceand progress loston my single-player C&C4 game because my DSL connection blinked. DRM fail. We need new solutions, followed by Welp. Ive tried to be open-minded. But my net connection is finickyand the constant disruption of my C&C4 SP game makes this unplayable.
Jeff Greens current job is editor-in-chief of EA.com. Whee!
...
I loved the C&C series... specially when it said "Westwood" when the game was starting :)
For me, C&C stopped being really fun with Yuri's Revenge. Everything after that seemed really bad... although i did play Tiberium Wars & Kanes Wrath for the sake of storyline.
But this "last" C&C is really... BAD. Not only is it the worst C&C game in the series, its one of the worst games i ever played. Not in the sense of graphics or gameplay, but FUN. That's the ONLY requirement i have from a computer game. To have fun while playing it, and enjoy a decent story while doing it.
And i had none of that from this... shame i wasted the time. Although i have to feel happy i borrowed it from a friend first to see if it deserves a purchase. Would i have been pissed if i payed for this crap.
And as for someone mentioning SC2? I doubt it will be half fun to play as the original was.
Also, as most people said here, an RTS without LAN play? I'd much rather play with my friends in the same room, then some total stranger who-knows-where.
Aye, I'm in the SC2 beta myself for a few weeks (no 'high end' player), but matches tend to be quite fun - especially, as a friend invited me, so I can play with him and don't have to worry about playing too many games against ppl very much superior to me.
Balancing still going on there quite aggressively from what I've seen from the recent patch notes, so I'd say there game is coming along nicely and is a lot of fun to play. :)

I second that. Or I might let a friend buy it and then mooch it off him!
