Great, the first game I've ever bought that does not run properly, I get weird graphical artefacts all over the place. It's better when I drop to 1xMSAA but still very prevalent. A search of the EA forums shows many others in the same boat.
I've emailed Steam for a resolution or refund, which is a real shame as the 30 minutes I've played are awesome...

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I have seen a few (and I mean, very few) graphic glitches in multiplayer. Based on your specs, we are using the same family of graphic cards, processors, etc. Perhaps the issue lies with Dice's implementation of DX10 or 11? You can force BFBC2 to use a certain DX in the settings.ini file. Might be worth a go.
EDIT: My bad, I saw your shopping list, not your current specs. I am on an i7920/5870 combo.
It turns out that everyone having these issues was using Windows7 64, and Windows7 64 likes to "update" your GPU drivers to some ancient WHQL variant. As soon as I updated my GPU using the latest NVidia driver all is well. Yahoo!
Anyway, I suck badly at this game but it's a lot of fun. Going to play singleplayer through for a few days then get the courage to go online. Is there a "bot" fight (similar to BF2's singleplayer "campaign") that I can use to practise the maps?
Loving this game so far, just finding the campaign on normal a little easy - I seem to be flying through it and worried it's another game I will complete in a weekend of playing :-( Guess I need to play online to make the most of games these days...
It is indeed a great game, however for a PC game and an on-line one at that it is missing some things like the ability to host your own server even if only to be able to practice. The Ability to prone, throttle support for Joysticks and general Joystick support.
but i must confess that this is the game that i presently play the most
Like Battlefield 2 with better graphics, could maybe use some more available play are on the maps that already exist but pen you in a little overly in my opinion, but the addition that have been made in terms of unlock tress and progression build on the good work from battlefield 2142, some levels people seem to loose the idea that team play can help but for the most part id say well worth the asking price that it is at present. Thats not even counting single player.
An update to handle 40 maybe 48 players like 2142 would be most welcome though with some more leeyway before you enter the no go zone on maps

Have you seen the maps with no borders? They're massive, i wish they would just unlock the whole map, then 64 players would be awesome for this game & jets. I'm hoping BF3 will be at least 64 players on huge maps. I wonder why they design a huge scale maps but block off at least half??
Really Really disappointed with this game it has nothing on bf2, I admit im running on lowest settings on dx9 just to get over 60fps but the graphics are not the issue. I dont like the fact of no Prone, no toggle for crouch or sprint, no commander or squad leaders and i would really like the Q button to have more functions like bf2 had.

Having played Operation Flashpoint for numerous hours then starting this, it is a fairly big issue for me.
Am sure I will get used to it though....
