Argh! This year will be weak...

I was hoping for an Alan Wake release for the PC. C&C is long dead for me. It is getting dumber and dumber every release.

So, all that is left for a poor PC gamer like me is to wait for Metro 2033 and Splinter Cell: Conviction. This last one looks like a real nice game to wait for.

Well, there's also the other stuff...Mass Effect 2, BioShock 2, Mafia 2, AVP, Napoleon: Total War. We just couldn't put everything in here.

Possibly HL: Ep3 too...

metro 2033 is certainly the most exciting of the bunch, i have to admit im slightly dubious about DE3, but will try it of course. oh and dont forget AvP soon too ;)

Only a couple of those listed games really interest me. The others generally leave me cold. I'd rather spend a couple of hours playing Dragon's Lair or Space Ace than Heavy Rain.

Alpha Protocol sounds interesting though :)

will hl ep3 be out this year???

has anyone got any info on it screenies anything...

agreed the lineup looks pretty pathetic.
Joe, the ones you just listed would most likely be 10 times better then the stuff in the article heh.

C&C is about dead and buried thank god they decided this is the last 1.

As for MMO's, EVE in my opinion will be where most future MMO's will be looking to head.
Combining different styles and game plays into 1 universe (when dust gets released and they get past the next 2 expansions)

Metro = Fallout???

Eidos has confirmed regenerating health, a cover system and an occasional third person camera

Oh, for asterisk's sake. Why the asterisk don't these asterisking asterisks make this sort of unmitigated asterisk optional? Like, you know, "hard", "medium", "easy", "kindergartener", "blind kindergartener" and "console owner".

Then the rest of us wouldn't have to put up with it.

What is it with third person camera, anyway? Does it disguise the fact that you can't really aim a first-person shooter with a joypad?

Combining styles is great... but doing so with point-and-klick 'orbit 5000, weapons on' is a bit ... boring!

I've got my hopes on Jumpgate Evolution as a action MMOG, it has great potential, but there's been almost no big news or media (except for a few screenshots) since the last Friends & Family-phase back in June.

Maybe, that's why we ran individual previews of those games before Christmas. Just didn't want to repeat ourselves.

Heavy rain sounded great until I read the part about QTEs. Seriously these things have to die.

Maybe I'm slowly growing out of gaming but the only one I got excited about was Alan Wake. And that looks to be set to be the next DNF anyway.

I still remember the presentation of AW Intel used to demonstrate how awesome their NEW quad core CPUs are.

Does anyone actually care about Alan Wake anymore?

Metro 2033 is defenitely my most anticipated game in 2010 right after ME2.......

Am I the only one excited about Brink?
From the gameplay videos I have seen, it should make for a fun co-op with lots of action.

Also, SC2 anyone?

+1 for HL2ep3. How can nobody have any info?!

Wheres Battlefield Bad Company 2..?

Until Battlefield 3 appears, its the spiritual successor to BF2, the best online shooter for the Pc....

It's not the last C&C game, just the last one set in the Tiberium universe. Though I agree the series needs either a radical overhaul or to be binned altogether. The latest games are just a graphical update of the same tired old game mechanics they've been using for over a decade, and are so far behind the rest of the RTS pack it's silly, especially given the budget they must have for those games to be able to hire C-list Hollywood actors for the minute-long cutscenes.

That's why I'm much more looking forward to Supreme Commander 2, although I even have my reservations about that with it being ported to consoles.

Will Half Life 3 have a new engine behind it? I don't play HL much but the other games it's spawned - TF2, Portal - are fantabulous.

Personally I'm looking forward to The Old Republic and the 3rd WoW expansion pack - Cataclysm. I'm also hoping there will some indy game as good as World of Goo that's yet to breach the horizon.

Starcraft 2 I guess, but it's unlikely to be earth shattering in that genre, Blizzard never takes any risks with their products. As long as they appeal to the mass market and bring in the money, why should they?

I hope to god they bring out HL2:EP3 this year.
ichobi 6th January 2010, 12:38 Quote
It's pretty surprising to me why the hell the 4-5 hours episodic game take 3+ years to make.
Unless it comes out with new engine or amazingly unexpected plot twist, HL EP3 better be worth the wait.
