Serious Sam Co-Op is the best RBS (Run Backwards Shooting) I have played.... a great giggle.

Thought about buying this as the original was/is one of the most fun games i've ever played.
Although i do agree the lack of anything new is stopping me from buying it.

I don't care if there isn't anything new, I loved SS (1 & 2) and will be getting this ASAP.

One thing I really loved in SS2 (I think) was the feeling you got after beating 1 enormous enemy only to have 3 more show up...

Never stopping, constantly shooting at everything that moves.

SS is just pure fun wrapped up!

favourite memory from my original plays years ago was the first level. Head the opposite way than you're supposed to and you arrive at a little oasis and then get mobbed by loads of harpies!

That, and the penultimate level with the HUGE monster in the distance that just keeps getting bigger thanks to perspective tricks making it seem like he's closer/smaller until you just keep going and he gets bigger and bigger...

anyway, fun game! Had a similarly frantic element that the Skirmish mode of the original AVP game had (constantly being mobbed by hundreds of Xenomorphs)

My favourite bit is the start of the second level. You're at the bottom of the hill and the bomberman comes charging over the crest and down at you, screaming; aaaargh! Two pistol shots and he blows up, with Sam quipping rather lamely "aaargh, yourself!"

And then you hear, in the distance and growing louder; "AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!"

And in the back of your head you're thinking "Oh. ****."

Will the original run in win 7? If not, and not having an xp system, you have to buy this one. And never having played the original SS I might give this a try.

And one more thing... surely therre is a market for old games...best sellers...that just refuse to run in win7 being rewritten/updated for win7?

I second this. Many hours spent listening to grown men screaming and nearly reduced to tears when the next wave comes, only to beat it and cheer and then do it all over again. GAMEPLAY defined?

Serious Sam is possibly my favourite game character of all time.

"Give a man a bullet and he'll want a gun. Give a man a gun and he'll be giving away the bullets."

And upon picking up a sniper rifle:

"Long range weapon for a short term relationship."

Will definitely be picking this up to see me over till the new game comes out.

Just dropped out of the game for a minute to say MOAR PLEASE!

Serious Sam was always fun, Serious Sam super pretty edition is fantastic and why don't we have more simple frantic shooters like this any more.

i loved SS coop mode, i wish more games were in coop mode, so much fun.

My most memorable moment is running round a corner in SS and then seeing LOADS of mobs running towards about 4 of us in coop mode.took about 15 mins for us to get past them all.

I will defo give this a try

Does this works in coop mp without having to install the Steam Client (if i buy it from retail)? I don't use Steam and don't plan to.
knuck 28th November 2009, 20:56 Quote

Original game, yes. HD, no. Needs Steam.

Why don't you use Steam?

bit-tech please don't ever say "damp squib" again! it's one of the most cringeworthy phrases ever!

Nothing wrong with Steam Dead Ghost.

I never played the original games so was excited to try this out. It's a bit frustrating as there's always loads to kill but the weapons are so slow and I keep dying! But I'll try stick with it.

It's nice to get updates of old games with better graphics, such as Half-Life1 Source.

I'd like updated Deus Ex and Final Fantasy VII in HD next please =)

I think it looks great but it's a little boring because the first MI I ever played was the second one, which was funnier and had more characters and items.

Still a good game though (hey I wouldn't want to be banned by Joe)
