If it gets onto a Steam weekend deal I'd probably pick it up. £17.99 seems a little bit pricey, and I'm a sucker for Steam deals. Although, I can somewhat understand the pricing given the amount of work that it looks has gone into polishing the game and getting the art just right.
"those of you whod be interested in a game like this already know who you are."
The ultimate reviewers' cop out? Honestly if you're going to be so bloody lazy as to tag this at the end of any remotely non-genre specific game review just say so and I'll get my coat rather than waste my time reading.

I'm glad you reviewed this, Joe. I was on the point of suggesting it, after you had reviewed the two Tale of Tales games.
As for "those of you whod be interested in a game like this already know who you are" - that's far from a cop-out. It's very true. I bought this a couple of weeks ago. What sort of game this is should be obvious if one reads the rest of the review. One sentence at the end, which is completely justified, hardly makes it a waste of time. Does one need to be told what to buy?
Next thing, someone will be criticising Joe's writing style (how many times have I seen that over the years). Perhaps some people ought to stick to IGN and the likes.
(And yes, it can be purchased cheaper from eBay, etc)
Also, there is an official torrent of extras created by the developer, who are worthy of praise for a great deal. They even tried to engage with those who pirated their game (I can't say that I would be so moderate).
It's great that you review these kinds of game Joe, while I haven't gone and tried out any of these games it's good to see and read about these innovative games.
I'm not interested in the intensity of FPS nor the social aspects of MMOs, so I might get this. I miss getting lost in games, but don't miss getting stressed out and occasionally dreaming about them

Jog on, I'm not the one holding myself out as a reviewer am I? If you want the inheritance and capital gains tax consequences of making an appointment of the capital value of a trust fund then I'm your guy.
maybe i'll pick it up just to support this kind of thing... i'm not sure this is my kind of game, but who knows? i've never sleepswimmed in honey before.

Re-reading that paragraph, that's a criticism I fully accept. It's far better to 'show, not tell', so I should show those people that this is a game they'd like, rather than just tell them.
Oh crap!
So many games to play with so little time to do it.
Still slashing my way through Dragon Age, and I need to get MW2 as well, and now this. I guess I need to hire an assistant or something - time is certainly at a premium these days.
However, I will pick this up and play it when I find the time to do so.
This game looks fantastic. Reminds me a little of the Chinese Room HL2 mods from what you've said and shown, albeit with more of a gameplay mechanic. Looking forward to this one.
I like adventure games, The Longest Journey being my all time favourite game, but I don't want to play anything like Myst ever again. That game nearly drove me crazy.

Can't say I ever played Myst properly, but not from what I know of it. No. It's not just pre-rendered backdrops and odd puzzles.
I got this game and started it a few days ago and I must say I agree with everything the reviewer said (more or less) though there is one thing I would add.
I respect this game. I respect it for several reasons. The obvious one is that it's so different and weird and messed up in the head that you know there is a group of graphics artists and game designers that really wanted to make THIS game and not the game that would make them much more money.
Another reason has to do with the difficulty. It IS a hard game to get into, but it's not hard because the enemy has superhuman strength and can hit you with a rusted crossbow from halfway across the map, it's a hard game because it lets you discover it. It tells you what you have to do how to do it in a very cryptic manner that fits nicely into the whole concept of the game. Everything is one big poem and everything is spoken in metaphors. It's a work of art that assumes you'll keep an open mind about things and can read between the lines and think beyond the straightforward meaning of a sentence. In other words, it doesn't pop up big white letters saying "Press E to open door" every time you approach a bloody door!
The Void is to Modern Warfare what The Fountain is to Transformers. I probably didn't enjoy The Fountain as much as Transformers, not as a cinematic experience anyway, and The Fountain isn't a movie for everyone (it probably can barely be classified as a movie). But the void is gorgeous. It knows it won't be loved by everyone. It suspects it may not be loved by anyone. But it doesn't assume you're an idiot and for this, I salute the developers and hope to see much more from them.

By the way, I believe it's "ham-fisted" and not "hand-fisted". :)
