Sure did, Tiberium Sun and RA:YR are the best IMO, although I am partial to C&C Generals.

"And, though there’s been a lot of uproar lately about the constant ‘net requirement, we fail to see why it’s so bad for most gamers. The days of dial-up and paying by the minute are a distant memory for most people and, as long as the system is as transparent and lagless as we hope, it shouldn’t function very differently from a good MMO. Most people have their PCs constantly online when they play anyway...but we digress."

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS! I got so frustrated when everyone took to arms over the constant online issue!

I see this as work in progress, could be good could be bad. I'm thinking it may a bit of a balls up due to the fact that at this stage they still too many loose ends which sounds like a bit of a dev nightmare.

F*ck sake why does EA have to own everything. "more accessible", we all know what that means. If their games become any more "accessible" they'll be nothing more than gloryfied screen savers.

Sincerely, I don't like this C&C... I have Dawn of War II, and I love it... But C&C is another type of game, I don't want to play C&C feeling like I'm playing DoW... I was going to buy this game, but it just lost all of it's appeal... Loved C&C Generals/ZH and all others I own them all, but this (to me) is not the way to go.

Respawn? WTH... MCV with guns I agree but only with "light guns", don't like the part that it's mobile too, u have to stick with your base and defend it to hell... U never loose a game, just respawn, that sickens me...

At the end of the day I just want:

DoW to be DoW
C&C to be C&C (losing identity?)

Put new units, pimp up the graphics, make some improvements on some units, BUT don't ruin the game

wow I haven't played a good ol' RTS in ages... one of these days I need to pick up a copy of Supreme Commander... I'm really unsure about this game though, sounds... fishy ... but I'll wait till it comes out 'n see

JUST REMAKE READ-ALERT 2!

Easy, cheap, and everyone would be happy with an EA product!

^I've seen the original C7C being remade somewhere...isn't is called Tiberium dawn?
flibblesan 12th August 2009, 18:49 Quote
Looks good but it's EA so it'll end up being crap to play.

Watch BCPT and Apoc gives mod details, and yes, there are various mods that are rebuilding the Original C&C Dawn, as well as Red Alert 2, and bringing them into Sage (Gernals, C&C3, RA3 engine) And then theres Renegade X which is a remake of Renegade, but made in the Unreal Engine.

I really wish people would stop moaning about the Camera height, it isn't Supreme Commander, it's C&C, it's always been a static camera height, the fact you can now zoom is somewhat of a bonus, although i never really zoom. And, if you don't like the Camera height, alter the height yourself in the ini setting, it's what i have to do with Generals on my Widescreen panel.

Its Fisher Price, my first C&C.

But I guess EA kinda know that they are gona be in the shadow of SC2 so are just tring anything to get intrest.

What Is the point of this respawn bollocks? I mean really, all it will do is make people send in massive armies, desroy everything except the MCV, leave a minimal enough army behind to take out the MCV (to save the vast majority of your army), and when you new one lands and takes out everything, the other player will still have a massive army.

And even if you coudln't be snide and save your army, you still have a working, large and presumably high tech base ready to pump out high end units.

Samkiller, can u link me to some more of the remakes you know about? thanks.

This is going to get pushed out when they have the concepts half right and everyone will hate it. Oh EA.

The idea of classes in an RTS is okay, but I'd rather have some kind of persistant upgrade path that I got to choose. The method they've described is like chopping up GDI into Tank Army, Turret Guys, and Aircraft Engineers. How can you possibly win with 1/3 of an army?

The idea that a mission would be too hard for the equipment you recieve. It sounds like a dick move to generate online play. (Something I don't do with RTSs, I do Lan only)

I like the idea of an MCV that can defend itself, but not one that can become an ultimate weapon. Maybe only light defences and only when deployed. The new resource gathering system seems good from a continuity standpoint, but as a gameplay element it seems very SupCom like to me.

Actually, resource points and upgradeable MCVs both seem very SupCom. I'd be happier with a copy of SupCom's ability to zoom out. Or units that can automatically use their special abilities when appropriate.

C&C3 and RA3 weren't that great, it seems that C&C4 will be worse.:(

Sounds lame. Very lame. Even lamer than their last attempt.

well c&c 3 was ok, good graphics but red alert 3 killed the red alert series plus a constant online status was extremly anoying dispite having an on all the time broadband at home I do not like games phoning home when they feel like it,

it seams that c&c 4 will do for the command and conquer series what RA3 did for the red alert series kill it completely EA it seams do not really understand what command and conquer is all about other than the franchise makes money it would appear that greed is behind the most recent games, i remember a time when companies made games cause they wanted too and not to satisfy shareholders and such.

oh well there is always supreme commander... which i felt was a better game on the whole plus the twin monitor aspect I loved

Yep... graphically pimped up C&C3 with the above :D

BTW: image #8 gives me a 404 when I try to go hi-res.

I'll play this for the storyline, but damn am I sick of the C&C format. make infantry viable please. COH and DOW did.

I dont like the idea of no penalty, and historically have argued for more death penalty in games. I remember the hardcore days of Diablo, where you could pick perma-death and then go down into hell with friends we who serious about spanking his a$$

The problem with EA is that they are in it for the money, just look at the need for speed series nfsu2 was brilliant the rest were toss. They got to nfsu2 and thouht we can't do better so we'll throw in better graphics and more fit birds and hope for the best. This is exactly the same with c&c and RA they can't be botherd to work at making something original so they try more of the same with fitter birds. In the last c&C they had a chance to do something new with the scrin but just ended up ripping off starcraft and dark reign. They don't seem to care about gameplay much if at all, DOW spanks it as does SUPCOM. I've stopped buying ea stuff now because it is all just the same stuff just look at mass effect aka knights of the old jade empire, no originality at all.
