Sounds like they haven't been paying attention to why the original game was good. They just made another.

Sadly I'll probably buy a copy just for Butcher Bay - the original was epic, but re-fancied with a new engine? Yes please!

Apparently Atari hasn't learned from EA's DRM fiasco with Spore last year, shipping the PC version of Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena with DRM that limits the number of game activations to just three PCs. The game doesn't ship with a revoke tool to deauthorize machines, so you're basically limited to 3 installs.

Pity. Seemed an interesting game...

Wow, that's put me right off. I assume you ring some poor person up if your install fubars 3 times?

Meh, will wait until it drops in price so I can re-play the original with shiny-er graphics.

Ninja edit:

Just read the thread impar linked to... Oh my, another Bioshock! It'll be easier to buy the game once a working crack is out... again. :(

seems like a pretty decent game! but with DRM crap, we all should just torrent it. maybe one day those game publisher will realize their mistakes.

oops, excuse the daydreaming...

Shame. I was so waiting for this game but seems that my fears were true. Not that good remake and DRM puts nail in the coffin.
Maby next civilisation will understand to drop the DRM jokes.

Same here, I never got round to finishing EFBB, lost my save and got wind that this was coming out so I decided to wait. It's only £35 on GAME and I think that's worth it for EFBB alone.

Typo, first page:
'..as he is won't to do in all the movies and games.."

If the DRM troubles are sorted out, I might give this a go.

the new storyline sounds a lot like the spongebob squarepants movie.

Wow, I really think I'm going to avoid this one now, never played the first, but if this is going to happen, I'll keep my money in my pocket.

I loved Pitch Black but Riddick was just weak in comparison, at least in my eyes. Another movie? Please let it be based on Escape From Butcher Bay. Could make some awesome script.
