yup looks good, i tend to get a bit sick of this whole games as art philiosophy when people try and apply it to stuff like Halo but tbh this looks very interesting, interesting - not neccesarily fun
the path wants u to stay on the path, but ur actually encourage to stray from it.
the game tells u to do one thing, but ur actually encourage to do another.
now bit-tech gives it a 5, but ur actually encourage to play it.
he describes the game perfectly.. it's not really a game- even though once you figure out some things it makes it alot easier to find things- that girl in the forest doesn't pop up for no reason :D the trippy part is finding the secret rooms- especially carmens (but I'm not going to spoil anything on how to get to her wolf)
still need to collect all the flowers to see what happens with that.. the ending left me scratching my head- it is more a piece of art masquerading as a game- about the only way to describe it.. I've got more questions than answers the first time through :o
gameplay reminds me of the program/game ender has to play in orson scott cards story "enders game". where you can only advance or finish by not playing the rules.
Well after reading the review in CPC, then again on here I decided that at £6.90 (direct from the publishers website with a steam link - this way I can back it up) it was worth a go.
I have to say I love it. Yes it is slow at times, but the imagery is beautiful and thought provoking, I may even go so far as to say in any game I have seen or played.
Great to see that there are games being developed (and published) like this. Not many games get you thinking about the characters so much; even if it is just wondering about how, or if, they will meet their end.

I will point out that both reviews are different though - wherever possible I like to make sure that bit-tech and CPC fans don't have to put up with the exact same content! ;)

Sorry, I could have phrased that a little better. The CPC review had me tempted, but the more in depth review on here convinced me to shell out. This is where this site wins out over the old CPC site. On there, it would have been the same review.
I pretty happy with CPC moving over to here. Without the mag I doubt I wouldn't have spotted the game, without the more detailed review I doubt I would have bought the game.
There's also a free Prologue to download on Steam.
Quote:
The Path - Prologue
About the Game:
Instead of extracting part of The Path and releasing it as a free trial, this is a brand new chapter, similar to parts of the game, but not the same. It gives you a free taste of the atmosphere of The Path.
In The Path Prologue, you control the mysterious Girl in White. There's a not a lot of gameplay in this demo. It's just about exploring the forest and pondering the sights. A prologue should show what happened before the events in the story. But in this case, it may seem like it's showing things that happened after. A mystery that will make more sense after playing the full game.

...aand, I just bought it for myself =D.
*steam starts*
So basically it's a bit like Pathologic then?
Kind of. It's more like what Pathologic would be like if it was translated well and actually worked.

Glad to hear you liked the game though!
