Games to Watch in 2009

Not seen anything about Offset before

Like Fallout3 for 2008 . I only wait to see Duck Nukem Forever for 2009

Think I might have to try out the new Total War, it's a series I've not ever played and I really think I should. Apart from that Mafia looks good - of course!

Missing info about Tom Clancy's EndWar... If it is comeing to PC this year. It looks great in the trailer... A game I was looking forward to in 2008.

Does anyone remember seeing a trailer for a game that was unveiled at E3 where it was like a panning shot of a run down city with Russian text on signs and stuff. Something happened at the end, but I can't remember for the life of me, but I know I was intrigued.

What? No mention of starcraft or diablo?
No matter. From the list, F.E.A.R. 2 is the only one I'm looking forward to.
Also, on the ghostbusters part, didn't activision merge with all of vivendi universal, or was it just blizzard?

Seems like everyone knows about Starcraft 2 & D3, as these haven't been mentioned :)
I have already seen pre-orders for Starcraft 2(terran campaign) and I'm really worried that they'll try to "milk" it. It's price(more than 30$ here) is pretty high given it's only one episode(yet 30 missions or so they claim). I hope next episodes will be cheaper.

Yes, main character was shot in the end of the game. I think it's based on different character/city/story.


Did you see ArmA 2? There's trailer at http://www.arma2.com/ and it looks pretty good. Though animations looks as usually choppy. I hope it'll be more story driven than original ArmA(but since they listened to customers complaints and patched out starforce, I've got good faith in this game). I love those(10 min) long cutscenes from Op Flashpoint :) .

nothing about prototype? that game looks so awesome in the very little vids that are available.

Yet there are five games console exclusives, two games PC exclusive and six games are all platform of the thirteen games. Not including the last page with "duke for never" and "project way offset". I hope the sadness I had during 2008 because of the abandonment of PC game development will hopefully turn around in 2009. And I am not even counting the dozen of canceled titles :(

Project Offset has had my attention since the moment the tech demos appeared. I think I'd be more interested to play that than DNF, however, DNF and FEAR 2 are also very high up on my list of 'hopefully they don't come out before I have a chance to upgrade' titles. :)

Thinking about it, Offset is probably quiet because Larabee isn't out yet.. I'm betting we'll see them both at the same time, and it'll be awesome when they do surface. :)

Nope. Alan Wake, Ep 3 won't make this year by our reckoning either.

Wasn't the original Mafia a bit pants? New one sounds like it will be awesome though.

Total War is the one I'm most excited about for the titles of 2009 I know of.

The original mafia was awesome. If you haven't played it you should. Still a very good game.

I've been waiting 10+yrs for a Duke3D replacement and I just hope Scott & George don't **** up DNF. "When it's done" got old years ago. The engine they were using in 2001 would of be fine for release. We could be playing DNF2 by now.

A next-gen Commander Keen and Shadow Warrior would be awesome!

I think that too... What are they thinking? They could have launched DNF... had their profit... now launch DNF2 or DNF3... I don't belive that only one DNF is going to make more profits than a theoretical DNF, DNF2 or DNF3 together
