Dropping the director in to tf2 and have him control dozens of pyros charging at you it would be so funny to watch...

I don't knw if you know but you can have a go at INFECTED MODE !
* Start a single player, open the console and type :
* sv_cheats 1
* ent_fire !self setteam 3 (you wont be able to spawn and AI isn't moving, so do: )
* director_force_versus_start 1
* z_spawn hunter or tank/boomer/smoker
Repeat last step to respawn, but you will respawn where you as spectator is currently is, so move a bit in freefly before)

and also director_force_panic
also director_panic_forever 1 is nice and very hard...
z_spawn witch spawn a non controllable witch...beware.

Enjoy ! (I hope my forum reputation goes up from this ^^)

to be honest I wish a lot of these games came with the same bot system as CS:S, same goes for those mods that you can download, this way you can play against the comp. I really lost a taste for playing against people, most of them are just childish or annoying, or when they think your to good just kick you from the server, I cant tell you the amount of times I have been banned or kicked from a server because I was told that I was cheating ~_~ ugh so frustrating... anyhow rant is over, this game still looks great though.

I'm the same, other people are so annoying, or I end up acting like a nOOb on purpose (honest) and getting my friends together to play games now we are not all at college/uni is a pain :

What drives you through the game from area to area, what if I run around in one area do the rest of the team run off?

I would agree with on the orange box because there were times in portal and ep 2 which I thought it could use a higher texture res, however I have to say, with all the effects maxed out and getting a constant 60+ frames, Left4Dead is so frantic I haven't noticed any graphical flaws, I think it looks brilliant. Besides, I would much rather perfect framerates than crysis esque graphics any day of the week.
This game epitomizes fun for me, for you to be concerned about the graphics I have to wonder, have you actually played it? (On a harder difficulty).

Playing with the AI, they'll never leave you - but if you run away from them then you can leave them behind, though I wouldn't recommend it. Slam it on expert and try ditching them and getting to the safe room.

I swear I just played with John Goodman. The guy sounded exactly like him.

The game is ridiculously good fun. I can't wait for some outdoor levels.

Looks like fantastic fun, but I haven't the time to indulge.

Fabulous holiday present for your peers, though!

Brilliant fun. Played for 5 hours solid last night with 3 mates, hosting on my pc (needed to dmz my pc on router). On expert we only finished it twice! Tanks are mean b*stards and if you havent got a hunting rifle your screwed. :)

ps just tried infected mode. :) Kudos to g3n3tiX. Muchos fun being a tank.
bahgger 9th November 2008, 16:55 Quote
I'm loving expert mode :D and I really enjoy the hunting rifle :D

How big is the download?
We're having a LAN party this weekend and the other zombie mods we've played have always been a hit, this should be fun.
glaeken 10th November 2008, 03:51 Quote
Steam says it's 3.2 GBs. Took about 40 mins to download at 1.3 MB/s.

This game is just fkin brilliant! I'm hooked. Expert mode is the only way to go, you really need to work together to get to the end. The interface and server choosing is pretty rough however, very un-valve. Once you get into a game though it's fantastic. I will never get bored of pipe bombs, or watching a tank smash a concrete column then pick up a chunk and throw it at someone. Epic :)

I've been thinking that it would be pretty cool to play as the AI Director. You could get a certain number of hordes, boomers, hunters, and smokers and try and defeat the players battling the zombies. Be almost and RTS. It would definitely add to the replayability. If valve gives access to these types of control in the SDK, that would be a pretty cool mod.
steveo_mcg 11th November 2008, 11:09 Quote
There is a mod called zombie master where you can do just that, its quite cool but obviously a little less polished.
fargo 14th November 2008, 16:17 Quote
the demo looks like a valve project great a FPS parridise but so much shooting will it get boring after while?
HourBeforeDawn 14th November 2008, 17:17 Quote
