You can maximise it and have it run and look fine or you can have it in a window like I did and have it easily hidden from the boss. If a game suffered because of a low res then we might mention it, but this isn't the case for what is essentially a casual game.
When you get the required number of goos through the pipe a big lever should pop down. I don't know why you aren't seeing it.
