I've been playing since middle of Beta, and have been having a blast at it. I've always been a fan of PVP/RVR style games after the years of being addicted to DAoC. The Public Quests are very unique and the ability to wander into a zone, and pull up open group list and join a group without having to run around typing LFG!. And sceneros are great. Jump in, 10 min or so PVP, usually enough at lower levels if you are good enough for 1/2 to 3/4 of a level, then jump back to PvE, re-que for the sceneros and usually back in within a few minutes, and doing some quests while waiting. The travel is a bit annying, having to run to a few areas repeatly, but again, WOW does this as well.

Apologies if my comments seem a little harsh. Reading it back I realise I was perhaps over defensive.

Bad day and posting on forums = bad idea.

What is ironic, personally, is that although I'm sticking up for the game and saying how it does all these things better than WoW... I'm not going to be continuing with my subscription when this months ends. I can't put my finger on why, but I just don't have the compulsion to play like I had with WoW. One massive factor for me, is the weaker and less important economy of the game. I play WoW a little like I used to play Elite - to accrue money and possessions through a solo, freebooting, Delboy-esque play style that WAR doesn't seem to allow for.

Not sure if I will renew my WoW sub when the Lich King hits, but once the 18th rolls by, I won't be WAR in the near future.

What sucks about WAR atm.

Scenarios need improvement in balance. Top 2 Scenarios aren't even great. Tor Anroc and Serpents Passage. Destro plays TA for time to flag advantage and SS is a giant DM match with a weak objective. That's how it is on Dark Crag Open RVR server.

not to pimp another site but ars has been doing a cool week by week "play log" review of war that I think is a better format for a mmo review.

I've recently quit WoW (after 3 years and 4000+ hours played) and have started playing WAR. So far it seems pretty good, there is much more to do at low levels than WoW. I can PvP from the start (with auto adjusted stats so i'm not behind higher lvls), i can explore the maps and unlock the many special titles, items, tactics, etc within the Tome of knowledge or i can go about questing and doing PQs. However i'm not sure if the end game will hold up as well, but i'll have to wait and see.

At least it will tide me over until Aion comes out :)

That's like quitting morphine and starting opium :-/
Ah, I kid. But re: the widespread complaints about lack of originality in MMOs, I think trying to make a totally original one in the wake of WoW would be like trying to make a 5-wheeled car. Warcraft's influence on the genre is frankly collossal, I can't see any MMO escaping its shadow completely, ever, now. I'd like one to, but I don't think one will.

World of Warcraft has finally met its match. Warhammer is certainly a much better game and has surpassed all my expectations that I can ask for from a MMO. It brings back the great RvR system that DAoC has and put it into a new world with new and better features. I love the game so much I decided to start a Warhammer Wiki.

I tried this game. The game is OK, but the support is almost non existent.

When I tried to extend my subscription at the end of the 30 day period all I got was a page telling m I had no licences. THAT WAS IT!

No help no email address to contact. Zilch. I have since had an email from WAR directing me to a help page. I tole of my problems only to get another email from a <no-reply> email address telling me I might have entered my CD key incorrectly!! And that my feedback was welcome.

I played the game for aminth and now cannot conact the w**kers at Warhammer online.

Screw this game.
