Roll on beta!

Hopefully Frank does another awesome rendition of Hell March. Not sure what I'd do without that track.

I'm actually kinda looking forward to this! RA2 was fun as far as I can remember and this might be worth trying as well.

zeppelins! yes! I'm loving the transforming units, my favourite tank of all time was the tick tank from tiberian sun

Love the C&C series since the start of the universe. I will probably buy it as soon at is on the shelfs, to bad there are no special editions with die cast soldiers anymore :(

RA2 is STILL fun. i play it most days as its one of the few ones that my faithful old PC can handle. Im very much looking forward to this new rendition, and NINJA's!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

should be fun.

Damn you for getting my hopes up and this game needs more walrus.

What game doesn't uncertain? But YES @ the music, i loved RA2s sound track, epic. I think I might actually pick this one up. And yes I am one of those elitist people who won't be content until an updated Renegade 2 comes out with the same fun gameplay.

God, if I hear Tanya's voice again this side of the year 2010, I might be the first person to have a decade long hard on..

No more Einstein "INKREDIBLE!"s though = :(

The Engineer from the RA expansion pack "Aftermath" had the best feedback vocals.

"I hear ya!"
"I'll just get mah wrench!"
"Riiiiiiiiiiiiiise an' shiiiiiiiiiiiine!"
"Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

I once built an army of 100 Engineer units just to hear a century chorus of "Rise an' shine" as they walked to their deaths amidst the Soviet Tesla Coils.

There were other greats as well.

Thief: "Time for a little five-fingered discount."
Spy: "For King and Country!"
Soviet Infantry: "Ackchchchh-nowledged." - always sounded like they had a chesty cough.
Yuri: "Pfwadictabw" - "Predictable" in his strange, slightly-retarded accent.

Awesome preview BT ;) I love the new graphics and new buildings. It rocks. I cant' wait to play this game ;)

Really looking forward to another Hell March... :D

I wonder if 'Kirov rush' is still a valid tactic? The number of times I took out whole bases buy running a large group of Kirovs' right across them in RA2...

Did you play the original CK, or are you just easily excited? ;)
Mentai 28th July 2008, 12:03 Quote
RA2 and Yuri's revenge were my first games on PC. I too suck at and generally dislike RTS, but I can certainly make an exception for the RA franchise. Can't wait to make hordes of japanese schoolgirls lmao

:)

When I played online RA2, I usually got annihilated before I got very far (playing with friends who spent far too much time perfecting the tank/Kirov rush trick) :( I ended up following the same tricks in the end, 'cause at least I could do some damage back.

Joe, did your copy of the game Feature HM3 or any part of the soundtrack at all? Did it resemble anything that Frank had done in the original 2 RA's?
Another question for you... What graphics settings where you playing the game on, i.e in game graphics, and what hardware were you playing on? Cheers.

Sam
CardJoe 28th July 2008, 13:58 Quote
No idea on hardware, but the graphics were fully pimped up (though there was some placeholder art about as the game is still beta).

Regarding sound, there was no music I can remember in the beta build and about half-way through I turned it off anyway to stop it interfering with my recording.

that's such a shame...... i really like all of his stuff in RA2, so no camo-tank :(

i really don't like the idea of Japan in RA universe. well, im never a fan of Japan because of the history between them and China. but RA3's charactors are just wrong, a schoolgirl who can destory tank using her mind?

looking forward to Allied aircraft carrier as always :)
jezmck 28th July 2008, 14:27 Quote
Great review, thanks Joe.
Any word on hardware requirements?

I was expecting a follow-up joke about being hammered.
