Just replace the last number with an integer between 2 and 22. I can't be arsed to upload them all seperately. Be sure to give us a link though ;)

This might just become the first game i buy since Oblivion and GTA:SA. I like it, despite it being very unhip.

You see, in The Sims, new items can’t be easily created and the expansions can consist mainly of new furniture and so forth.

Can or can't? O.o
CardJoe 13th February 2008, 14:26 Quote
can't - i.e. there's no in-game tool to do it.

HUH? i thought the planets were supposed to be procedurally generated so they're NOT always the same damn thing...
CardJoe 13th February 2008, 14:57 Quote
It was the first question I asked one of the games producers (interview forthcoming), and he said that that wasn't the case. The game uses the exact same planet everytime.

Maybe it's just me but it seems like the screen shots look a bit choppy. Obviously graphics aren't the only thing to a game but jaggies seem a bit too 1990s.

Glad to hear that Spore will be retaining most or all of it's promised glory, as really everything about it said "prune me down to something stupid while retaining all of the original hype!".

Looks delicious.

They've obviously changed it, probably to make the beginning experience more user friendly and consistent. After all, it would suck if you ended up with a planet that was crappy somehow.

All the other planets should be though, I saw someone going through a demo of how the procedural planet generation works.

Wow , I can't wait. I wasn't even thinking that I'd get such a detailed preview of a game thats so far away from release date. You are very lucky Joe, and I'm glad you wrote the preview because I know you'd be honest about it. This will be one of those games that makes the honey-do list a mile long. :-P

What kind of machine did you guys run it on? Do you have any estimate of minimum and recommeded system requirements?
sheninat0r 13th February 2008, 20:13 Quote
Wow, I've been waiting for this forever... Good to see some screens and hear your thoughts, I was worried it would be come vaporware after it didn't come out in '07.

No idea on the systems we had - all I could see was that they had Cooler Master Cosmos cases and the laptops used for big screen introductions were XPS'. There's an interview coming later in the week that touches on this though.

so... multiplayer will be pretty wicked imho. I don't know how they will do it for the first two stages.

There is no multiplayer. As Joe said, MOSH; Massively Online Singleplayer Hybrid. It downloads content from other players, which is where it gets the online.

My jaw honestly dropped when I saw bit-tech got to do a preview. Been waiting for this game since it was announced back in... 2005? I'm EXTREMELY glad its still shaping up to be awesome.

I'm also glad that it'll be out a couple months after I get my new rig. :D

Just out of curiosity... how many times have you guys been dugg twice and slashdotted at least once in a day? This article showed up on both (and I'm sure on plenty of gaming blogs), plus an old project log where someone modded their apartment door to have a window etching hit the front page too. ;)
