First Mass Effect, now Brutal Legend, I might have to break down & buy a 360.

Nah, PC RPGs have mods, I like mods too much to give that up.

If Brutal Legend doesn't come to the PC, I'm going to be mad.
DougEdey 2nd January 2008, 08:35 Quote
Nice list, but I highly doubt that Fallout 3 will make it for Q408, probs Q209.

Oh and for me, the first graph had Bioshock and Halo swapped and Crysis a no-show :p

Bloody hell, another year has come and past... Now its time to look ahead at those pretty games we'll be playing soon enough. (well, maybe not DNF).

I cant wait to be honest, this next year will be amazing in the world of gaming.

Anyway, i'll be sure to stick along with Bit-tech 'til the end. Cant wait to see what this website produces in this new year too. Good luck to you Bit-tech, and good luck to everyone else to raise the money for these bloody games! =P

Fallout 3, Spore and Alan Wake are the ones that have a me will buy factor...

the rest?

either they dont interest me or are console exclusive... damn those consoles

"but early reports suggest that this could be the best Indy game yet"

Better than Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis? Absolute pish, no Indy game could ever top the Sucker Punch!

Of the rest, fingers crossed they all turn out to be as good as predicted. I'll be gutted if Spore ends up forever in development hell, it looks such an intreguing game. As for DNF, it's funny but even given it's ten year development cycle, no-one quite wants to write it off yet, everyone is still secretly hoping it's going to be as ass kicking as it could be.

The graph made me lol. Thanks Joe! So true, Orange Box really made the year for PC-gamers. Can't resist adding this here: http://img510.imageshack.us/my.php?image=20071228lh5.jpg

"...while others will fail to live up to the enormous hype which has built up around them. "
Dunno why, but looks like this sentence was made for FO 3...

I am a huge fan of FO franchise, but i think the only person from the previous FOs, Ron Perlman (aka "The Narrator"), won't save the game.. :(

Well let's give beth some credit.. Perhaps the Oblivion - FPS style on FO 3 wont be a "total" waste... PERHAPS!

It breaks my heart to put Spore in this category, but the reality is that Will Wright, creator of all things Sim, may never actually finish his opus if current reports are to be believed.

Where did you get that information from? Recently there have been full page spreads in PC gamers around the world.

@Jipa why didn't you just link to the PA page with it on?

the games listed weren't of much interest to me. I'm keeping an eye on FF7: crisis core, FF VS XIII and some other console/portable RPG's. the FPS's from '07 should keep me occupied for my shooting needs

What about super smash bros Brawl and Resident evil 5? (Though RE5 could be a 2009 affair)
wuyanxu 2nd January 2008, 13:25 Quote
Super Smash Bros Brawl, Far Cry 2 and STALKER prequel are the only ones i REALLY looking forward to play, Alan Wake looks very good, hopefully a game to make people recognise Dx10 (rather than what Crysis did). Spore is a casual game i'd look at and play a bit. but hard core games i'd say is in 2007, with UT3 and Crysis for super hard core hardware enthusiastics

Shouldn't the article name be "Games to Play in 2008", rather than "Games to Watch in 2008"?

how could u miss details on a new splinter cell game?? :D

I was very much looking forward to alan wake but vista only :( guess I will have to wait for wine to be able to run it then.. so best game of 2009/2010 :P also I expect it will be a comercail flop due to the lack of computers running vista (Bit-tech is very much a minority in vista take up).

GTA, DNF, FAR CRy 2 and stalker look interesting to me
naokaji 2nd January 2008, 14:56 Quote
i dont think the vista only part will hurt sales of alan wake too much...

complete computers come almost exclusively with vista... besides, once alan wake will be released vista will be like one and a half years old allready and sp1 will be long out, so vista will prolly be on most pc's that are fast enough for it anyway.

See I dont think that graphs too bad, just need Halo 3 lower, Bioshock where Orange Box is and Orange Box not far behind, but everyones gonna have there own opinion on it.

But i'd really love to see Duke Nukem this year I still play 3D now, would be good to see it out even on an older engine so long as the gameplay elements and humour remain from the old games and "Shake it baby" returns before you shoot the stripper and she turns into a pig cop :D

Personally as well this year I'm looking forward to Alan Wake and from the videos I've seen of GTA4 im not totally convinced so far.

orange box was fun, but I found portal to be too short, to easy, and even though it was fun, I also found it to be boring. To quote the game, "speedy thing go in, speedy thing go out"(i think thats what it said anyway). that made me laugh at first, but after you have done it so may times, it gets old, quick.
and the final level was far too easy. I actually enjoyed crysis a lot more.
as for having HL2 on it, played it already, and episode 1. epsiode 2 was really good, best thing about the orange box i think.

I really hope that spore comes out sooner rather than later. I remember watching videos of gameplay a long time ago thinking that it shouldn't take much longer for it to be done. of course I was wrong, but you can always hope. Not that hoping for anything did much to help black and white2...
Dreaming 2nd January 2008, 15:38 Quote
I've been following spore quite closely and I'm hopeful for a March / April 20078 release:
