I'm gonna buy the Collectors Edition... The tutorials will come in handy when making maps with the new editor, I've already managed to forget how the previous editor works :o

:) We need to petition the Government for a few new national holidays to allow us some catchup. We need a national gaming week for a start.
I bought the collectors edition in the tin on the way to work this morning, can't wait for 5:00.....
If the demo is anything to go by this game is going to be seriously good. I loved the original UT and 2k3, and i've been waiting for this game for a long, long time.

I think you got this wrong, GoW looks like UT3, for GoW uses its engine
but.. I don't like te fact this game is released now, I don't wanna fail at school, and most definitly will.
Some of you guys might know how much of a UT-whore I am ... Which means I am happy you gave it such a good score Joe because good reviews will bring more new players to the game ;)

- not to be able to adjust my mouse sensivity with digits
- to be forced to use ONE crosshair with no size or color options
- to have only 1 name I can use online... gamespy id's suck
- where's the console in the menus ?
- graphical options that can be set by 1-to-5 meters ? (i had no idea how to say this, sorry) We can't even know what we're enabling/disabling
- back in 1999 I could use ctrl (right) to jump, but now I can't ...
- etc. etc. etc.
It was waiting for me when I came home from work, but after installing it, it just doesn't want to run on my system (just get a black screen). despite the min. specs. being for a 6200 (I'm on a 6600).
edit:
works on my Vista install, just not my XP install (on the same PC).

QFT. If only I could get the UT3 game with the UT2k4 menus and options... I would be a happy camper.
And I don't really appreciate the merging of assault and onslaught. Assault was just plain awesome, onslaught was not. They should have forgotten about onslaught and kept the good assault maps in, IMHO.
and some of the new maps are not very good either.
anyone know how to enable AA in this? i want Dx10 and at least 8xAA damn it, Vsync is on, so i don't care how much more FPS i get with my quad core and GTX, i just want some AA and higher resolution shadows (campaign cut scenes looks like a 8 year old game with some strange post processing slapped on)

UT3 (and UE3, for that matter) uses something called Multiple Render Targets (MRT). A side effect of that is no support for anti-aliasing.
You can enable AA only if you have the Nvidia drivers, in which case you can force it outside of the game. AA isn't compatible with the engine on DX9 on ATI cards at all because of MRT and differed rendering. It's possible in DX10, but you'll have to wait for the patch.
It's true of all UE3 games; Bioshock, Gears, etc. On 360 and PC.
after i looked through Gears of War's options, i though there is hope for UT3 with AA support in Dx10 (Dx10 i think is way better than Dx9, nevermind performance drop, i've got way too much FPS anyway, 40+ for UT is enough, 30+ for all other games, currently getting locked at 60 for all games) why didn't Epic make the AA option into their flagship game? they must be on console drugs or something.

Other than that, I can't quite help but think that I expected more. But I'm sure it'll still be a blast. :D
Goobye life

Going by screenshots i don't think the entire game could look any more like GoW:)
On the other hand, they have the Birmingham Rotunda there, so that nice :)

Please, correct me if this is wrong.
