I hope to God you'll be reviewing Unreal Tournament III both with and without a PhysX card installed. I'm definitely buying UT3, but it might convince me to get a PPU as well. I would certainly get one if they were priced more around the £50 mark.

If we waste our time with an equal amount of crap, you won't buy it, the people who make it don't get anything out of it other than the obvious: that it's a poor product. If something is 50% right, 5/10, then you wouldn't buy it, whereas 70% is "average" and you'd be more inclined to, but it's still average.
EDIT: After editorial consultation and your points taken into consideration it's been dropped to a 5.
I'll accept responsibility for not picking up on the connection between Joe's words and the score he gave the game. I'm burning the candle at both ends trying to get a certain graphics card reviewed in time for launch.
Though really I should accept responsibility. On reading through my notes again, it's obvious that I was giving a score out based on the promise of PPU in a game environment, not judging the game on it's own merits as I should have done. We talked over the scoring and have dropped the score by a point to bring it back into line.

Yeah, if you where rating the PPU rather than the game on a PPU then the first score might have been ok.
Even if you rate just the game its not that great. The throwing boxes thing was only fun for a little bit, I wanted to do something more with it. What would get me to buy a ppu and this game is have a CTF mode where the forts are destructible and respawn after a while, to me that just screams fun.
AGEIA can't really pin its hopes on UT3 since, although UE3 does incorporate support for PhysX, UT3 doesn't use it for anything game-altering. It's just eye-candy.
hmmm i thought this game was just crippling my computer (maybe due to having 2x 1680x1050 screens running) but it appears that it may partly be the games fault itself, i didn't realise it was that demanding
By the way, is if possible to get PPU code on 1 core and the game on the other, ATM its all stuck on 1 core, but does dual core in this game make a difference ?
