As to the alien Draenei having axes instead of laser guns (or other futuristic tech) the only explanations I can come up with are:
That they didn't have any on board (unlikely);
The act of sabotage took out the weapons locker (possible, but not likely);
There are weapons but insufficient for all (rare loot?);
They look sort of brutish (having never played WoW, I'm assuming the snake like creatures are the Draenei), so perhaps the intelligence of the average Draenei is not up to the task of building the more advanced weaponry of it's culture;
and finally, just because they could build/fly a ship, doesn't necessarily mean that they could construct more advanced weapons out of the materials at hand when they crashed (after all, we drive cars but that doesn't mean we can construct handguns out of it's remains if we crashed).
i figured it out, not a surprise with the indepth hint
anyways i looked at some sites since ive never played, the dranei aren't the ones that look like snakes.
if you look at the very bottom left picture on page one or the one diagonal to the upper right of it, thats them, the blue looking creatures.
i would say that maybe all their weapons need energy, of which they lack
they need to recharge them with their engine, which was destroyed
they dont know how to make weapons
maybe they only know how to make weapons with materials from their world, like trying to make a gun out of rocks and twigs.

are you refering to being able to change the level of enemies in dungeons??
cos yea, that sounds a bit crap, as does saving tbh..
I don't understand how the saving system will be useful. If the new instances are to be winged you can do the section in one sitting easily. Existing end game instances such as MC/BWL/Naxx might take advantage of this so your guild can save after killing a boss and come back the next day and continue. It will be useless for low level instances since these are easily do-able in one sitting. I can't see it being used much at all -- at least not by my guild.
Just a thought, i know i will definately be re-rolling as a blood elf but has anyone ever thought of creating a bit-tech clan for the upcoming expansion? im sure there must be a bunch of wow players here?
It would be nice to have a connection and a united bond such as this site to create a guild from than simply people you meet online?
25 man raid instances would have made a good addition to the game, but eliminating the 40 mans has to be the most craptacular idea they've come up with.
As a member of a long established 40 man raiding guild... what are we supposed to do? The comment that they are leaving the old 40 mans in play is stupid. Who's going to want to keep clearing BWL, AQ 40 or Naxx with new content?
Maybe we people who are in raiding guilds aren't in the majority... but this move is being seen as downright punitive in nature. There will be lots of hard feeling as we are forced to pare down our forces form the 55 or so members we currently have to about 35.
I think torrment's point is that there won't be much point running the old instances in the expansion as all the items people want will be in the new instances.
If you're in a 40 man raiding guild then in my opinion you would be best off to split and do the instance as two raids. Half the guild goes to one half go to the other and people can decide which one they want to go to more. Cutting players out of a guild is just going to cause problems.
Solidus, having a bit-tech guild would require us all to be on the same server. There is no way I'm moving off the Outland server as I have many friends there.
I think the level slider is a good idea especially if you can get higher tier loot. The problem is once your decked out in tier2/3 stuff normal instances become almost trivial because you can tear through them like they were paper. I think it will breathe new life into some of the old favoutites.
Would be fun to run through RFC/WC with a twinked group of lowbies on epic setting :p

ReplyI'm really looking forward to the new warlock talent tree, seed of corruption for the win!

I guess we'll find out when it's released.

a little hint:
http://www.wow-europe.com/en/burningcrusade/townhall/outlandmap.html
go there, and if you click on an area, you'll see that a little white square appears above one of the letter in OUTLAND...
figure out the sequence, and mr elfy starts to dance his elfy ears off.
(i only noticed this because of my obsession with looking at the source of interesting pages :D)

We can only hope Warhammer Online doesn't suck
