What Games Should You Be Excited About in 2017?

Doesn't excited for mean excited on behalf of someone or something? I see Americans use that phrasing often which makes me think it is incorrect and that it should be excited about. Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem right.

Good spot; about definitely is better. Changed, thanks! :)

I'm hoping For Honor will be good, at least Ubisoft seem to have realised paid DLC splits playerbases now, but I do have my worries. I feel like the servers are going to be a problem and foresee a lot of people dropping it early on as they don't understand how the mp works (in the same way as the Assassin's Creed mp died out apart from the hardcore players pretty swiftly).

Games I'm excited to play in 2017: PIT PEOPLE (oh God I need this game NOW, the 13th is so far away), Sea of Thieves (this is gonna be great with friends, also XB1-PC crossplay wooooo), LawBreakers (I got a new mouse and built myself a desk for this game, I like it), Mirage: Arcane Warfare (all the ragdolls and blood splatter I could ask for) and Yooka-Laylee (the Kickstarter was so long ago and I'm still excited for it!).

How long ago did we give up on putting Half-Life 3 on these lists?

I think the punchline of South Park is supposed to be a fractured butt hole. Not that you can fracture a butthole but yeah, American humour (oh OK it made me laugh). That is going to be my game though. One that stops me doing anything else, I can't frikkin' wait.

The last one completely took me by surprise. I was all ready to slag it off as another movie tie-in rip off game but oh man, I could not have been more wrong. Seriously, I can't remember a time where I laughed that hard for that long before or since. It just absolutely had me in childhood hysterics. Where you just can't stop laughing.

Amazing ! and hopefully this one will be bigger, as that was my only single tiny weeny gripe. It just didn't last long enough.

Divinity: Original Sin 2.. (and Southpark) - definitely tops my list of most anticipated titles.

When we realised that all the talented game makers had left Valve, leaving only the money-men obsessed with inflating regional pricing to rip-off 9/10th's of the world?

I can't get excited for a game that refuses to spell honour correctly.

No Mount and Blade: Banner Lord or Kingdom Come: Deliverance? Those are the two games I'm most looking forward to by far and both offer something fairly unique. Though I guess they might not sell that well compared to some of the titles listed.

I didn't even know these were incoming. TBH, I've found everything after Warband to leave a lot to be desired... the others just haven't felt nearly polished enough (no pun intended!)

No Mass Effect Andromeda. REALLY?! I did a triple check to make sure I wasn't being thick.

Looking so forward to it

Yeah, the only one I'm somewhat interested in is Mass Effect Andromeda

Borderlands 3 (or whatever they'll name it) is far away at this point, but we might get some infos on that next year. Another one that's of some interest for me is Cyberpunk 2077, but that's even further down the road.

Wasn't BL3 slated for Xmas 2017? either way looking forward to it.

I've been playing a lot of BL lately as it goes. Mostly DLC and TPS.
jrs77 31st December 2016, 17:16 Quote
I wouldn't be too sure about BL3 being released in 12 month. More like fall 2018 imho.

Anyways, BL2 with all AddOns is still going strong and one of, if not the best RPG shooter currently available. The Pre-Sequels story was nice, but the gameplay was meh. Tales from the Borderlands was an enjoyable story aswell, but there wasn't much gameplay.

If they take the best of all their so far released BL-games... BL2 gameplay, BL1-weapons, TftB storyline we have a winner.

Also... BL2 and PreSequel run flawlessly on my IrisPro graphics and here's hoping that BL3 will too.

I liked what I've seen so far of Bannerlord, but no release date yet (and also so many good games coming out.)

I left Mass Effect Andromeda off the list for a diff reason: i'm fairly certain it's going to be pants.

Part of me does too... I'm still looking forward to it even though my expectations are low to avoid disappointment...

I'm hoping it pans out. Eagerly waiting to play it and see how it goes, but right now i'm unconvinced.

After the... 'is that it? really?' ending of #3, i think there'll be a few in that boat with you...

Yup they don't take much to run and I think the use of cell shading was crafty because they still look perfectly fine today :)

I am able to use VSR to play them at 4k. Which is quite nice :)
